The Villa Blue Sky

The villa has a beautiful garden and large pool with a child section. Inside it is huge, with comfortable and clean bedrooms and living area.

The property itself is quite traditional which we didn’t mind but it’s worth noting. It is very close to the railway track, so at 05:30 every morning a very noisy train woke us all up with the sound of its horn. It is also very close to a busy road which you have to cross in order to get to the local beaches - we found this very stressful with a baby and young child. The walk to the beach is quite dirty. Nearby Turtle beach is not ethical with turtles being mistreated and should be avoided.

I was running a Writers Retreat for a week and we stayed 2 nights at the Villa Blue Sky. If I had known it was so good we would have stayed an extra night and will do that if we come back to SL. It was perfect for our group to relax, hold workshop discussions and find private space to write

I'd love one more bedroom for 2, as we could only have a maximum of 6 women at this venue, and 8 is my preferred number. As we were a group of 6 women, we didn't feel comfortable having a male cook come in to cook breakfast for us early in the morning, so we organised our own breakfasts. I would have loved the women to have had a Sri Lankan meal; however, once they were all up and dressed. Perhaps the owner could consider providing a Sri Lankan lunch option in the future.

We loved having breakfast cooked and served in the villa. It was excellent. The villa is very spacious and the green space around the villa is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach is just a short walk away.
