Mangrove Beach Cabana

That the cabana was situated right at the beach. Overlooking the long clean wild beach with the incredible waves. Not far away there is a natural swimming pool thanks to the reef that break the waves and allow for a refreshing dip in the ocean.

Cabana right on Tangalle beach. Bathroom in a bunker where you had a trap door to open.Fan with sea breeze was great. Bed comfortable. Patio was great. Short walk to safe swimming area in the sea. Restaurants close by.

Amazing location, amazing restaurant and amazing views outside! The cabana was very nice and clean but gave you a rustic feel, even though everything was actually perfectly polished. It gives the feeling of living in a bamboo shack on the beach but it also has resort amenities like a good restaurant, everything being super clean, etc. If you truly love the beach, stay here. You’ll be in heaven!

Nothing! Some might be annoyed by having to open a trap door to access the bathroom, but I don’t think all the cabanas are like that so you can just request a different one with a shower above ground. I personally enjoyed showering under the stairs. I thought it was quirky and fun

The view was incredible, the breakfast was simple but nice a few of the male staff were nice.

One of the 3 male staff (possibly skeleton staff and the one left in charge over the Sri Lankan New Year period), was super unwelcoming, unsmiling most of the time and felt like he went out of his way to make you feel uncomfortable (as a solo female traveller). I am unsure if he is like that with everyone, or if he just didn’t like the fact that I asked to move rooms due to the fact they wanted to put me in one of the two beach front properties that is right next to a big ugly chain link wire fence. (It was a fence from the adjoining property, however extended beyond and in front of the cabana. To be fair, he did (huffily and begrudgingly) put me in the cabana next door, however he certainly stayed surly for the entirety of my stay. My cabanas sheets were laundered I am sure, but very stained and old and I am just glad I did not look under the pillow cases until I was leaving…. extremely mouldy pillows! Granted this is mid level accomodation ($120 a night) and not 5 star, but for that I would hope for at least unstained bedding. The other two male staff I spoke with over breakfast etc were nice.
