Gili Matiki, Resort & Private Villa

Lovely room, comfy beds, very welcoming feel, cool outside bathroom, ceiling fan as well as AC, staff were friendly.

Bathroom door was stiff. Because they’re huts, the walls are like paper and you can hear everything.

Staff : amazing, smiley and very helpful! Clean, well organized and comfortable. One of the best places that we stayed during our journey at Lombok.

Owner : Wierd French lady (I speak French also). Heard her scream on the staff few time. Felt like a trash foreigner taking advantage of people. Maybe a little expensive but over all happy with what we had.

villa matiki is a lovely vibe, very cute, lots of lovely personalised touches and a great pool. Staff were also fantastic.

If you want a good night sleep I’d consider whether this is the right place to stay. In the bungalows you can hear everything like people are in the room with you. We had a room next to a screaming baby all night which wasn’t ideal. We did ask to change rooms which was accommodated with no issues, however. Given the villa is also nearby the mosque would make sense to sound proof the rooms. The other thing is that our room didn’t get made up until after 4pm. We would leave by 8am every day to go diving and coming back to an unmade up room which was frustrating after a long day and needing a shower.

Cute little property. Nice little touches all around. Most staff members lovely especially the lady’s in the kitchen.

Our room was very small for 3 people. We were there for 5 nights. We also did not know that electric scooters were not allowed. We kind of were told off by a staff member that we brought to the property. They also couldn’t tell us the reason for it. I feel a bit disappointed with the experience at Gili Matiki. Communication could have been better from the start.
