Wadi Rum Desert Secret

We both from Ali long jeep tour, lunch and dinner additionally to the stay in the camp. I expected adrenaline and hard hiking, what I found is peace, relax and calm. We enjoyed it very much - it felt authentic - no dancing around the fire or other things done only for tourists entertainment. We simply enjoyed beautiful nature, quiet, great food, best tea in Jordan! and ourselves. Watching the stars was also veeeery nice. This is camp, so the tents are not luxury, but they are clean and comfy. What is also a great experience - if you want you can sleep on the bed outside of the tent, just below the stars.

I give Salma campsite the highest rating. It was definitely the highlight of our visit to Jordan. The camp is smaller with a familly atmosphere. Unlike other camps in the area, it doesn't try to create luxury accommodation. Instead, you will be in authentic contact with the desert and the family that runs the camp. And that is why we traveled to Wadi Rum. The camp is simple, but has everything you need. And at the same time, you will feel the peace and majesty of the desert. No signal, no wifi, no distraction. But with tea, fire and the peace of the desert. You have time for yourself. Evenings around the fire with Ali and Mahmud were a deep dive into the culture and life of the Bedouin. Both history and present. They both speak very good English and we were able to discuss with them. I was also surprised by the punctuality and how everything worked. I also recommend the longer drive into the desert (6 hours) which was also great. Thank you for the opportunity to experience this and if it works out I will definitely be back.

This is a small traditional camp. Good value with very friendly and authentic local beduins

We unluckily could not manage pickup from the parking. As there is poor signal in the desert, but 6 hours with no contact is somehow too much :(
