Very comfy and safe, and in such a beautiful old building and setting. A nice communal vibe, feels friendly and welcoming. I only stayed one night but if I’d had the chance it would’ve been great to stay longer.
It’s a shame that there’s no staff there overnight, there was an unfortunate plumbing leak in our room and we had to wait until morning to alert anyone.

Location was fantastic. Felt safe in the female dorm. The fact that it used to be an apartment and you had a fully functioning kitchen was a nice touch. Breakfast was decent and loved how they offered a variety of milks
The toilets could have been cleaner (but also the people using them didn’t clean up after themselves).

great open-minded and friendly people - both the volunteers of the hostel and the other guests - and the atmosphere in the hostel is great to connect with each other, e.g. at the common breakfast or in the kitchen in the evening:)

The welcome for 30 minutes the rest of the 5 days I was a number to them....
Breakfast was not representative of the pictures on booking.com no cheese no eggs boiled, no cakes or pie desert, no coffee machine like Keurig, lots of noise during the night by new guest arriving late.

I had a very pleasant two days traveling alone here.It is highly recommended to go for a long-distance run on the seaside, which is just over a kilometer away.

Fantastic, helpful and friendly staff. Location was also good, very close to train station where from you could get anywhere in town and outside :) Great breakfast served every morning, free tee and coffee for everyone :)
Mattresses were bit too soft and and beds were squeeking with every move done. Also level of noise coming from outside to the room by cars and scooters. Someone not falling asleep easly should take some earplugs with him :)

Breakfast was substantial- included yoghurt, bread, cereal, fruit. Available most of the day via fridge. Offered breakfast on the day I checked in.
Comfortable bed. Showers were okay - they did close down some of the better showers during certain hours which was annoying.
Great location for the train.
Offered a city tour.

It's located right next to the train station which is super nice! The dorms felt pretty spacious for a hostel. Each bottom bunk has curtains to fully cover your bed which I think was the nicest feature. The kitchen and living room were also pretty big and felt comfortable to hang out in.
The staff was very friendly, they recommended "Spyros Tour" which was a free walking tour of Genoa, I loved it! There are two private bathrooms and one public bathroom area with locked doors per stall.
The dorms can get hot at night. While the window was nice, because it's next to the train station you'll hear some noises. Honestly it was like white noise for me and slept through it. The location in perspective of the "downtown" is far, but easily walkable or take the bus.

the breakfast was basic but enough for a variety.

Very nice people working at the hostel, friendly and helpful. Also the general atmosphere was very good, and the idea with film night was really good 😊 maybe there could be organised some game nights as well? I think that would be a good idea ;) and the location is really good as well, close to the center.
Maybe the hostel could have or well some ear plugs. But other than that everything was really good ;)

The location is great, and the breakfast is decent—though I’m not much of a sweet-eater in the morning.

- The building is super cool.
- It is nice that there's a breakfast included for free.
- The staff are very welcoming and friendly.
- The common room is cosy.
- The hostel is as clean as a hostel can be.
- We highly recommend the guided tour that the hostel offers. Spyro is an excellent and super entertaining tour guide, we had lots of fun! :D
- It's unfortunate that only the beds at the bottom of the bunk beds have curtains to create privacy. I would have liked them on the upper beds as well.
- The whole bunk bed trembles when one of the two people moves.
- I think it is very unhygienic that we only got a simple sheet to put between ourselves and the duvet. Of course the sheet doesn't stay in place during the night, so you end up sleeping with the duvet right on your skin - and this duvet gets used over and over by different people :(( I would highly recommend the hostel to get real duvet covers, or encourage travellers to bring their own if they can (it doesn't even have to be more work: I wouldn't mind having to take off the sheets at the end of my stay).

The staff was friendly, especially one who was speaking French (my language). The room was ready when I arrived (12am) which was nice. My stay went well ! Some bathrooms are seperated from others, which is appreciable.

Mmm.
There’s poor ventilation throughout so cooking and awful male deodorant smells build up not good if you have allergies. The whole place needs a deep clean- many guests were hacking their guts up every morning or ill which made for an unpleasant experience. I never saw staff wipe down surface touch points. The fridge was disgusting. Other guests ate my food despite it being labelled. I’ve stayed in over 50 hostels all around the world and they do not have enough guidelines for guests to ensure safety and comfort. Yes it’s good to focus on ‘fun vibes’ but you also need to ensure a basic standard of professionalism. Eg. Boundaries of staff- they knock but don’t wait to come which is unacceptable. Also make sure you check which deposits you’ve paid at the end and get them back. Requires improvement and hopefully it will.

Comfy room especially in Female dormitory room , perfect choice for women traveler like me and my friend. Room was so big and clean. The pantry room and kitchen for guest also very complete electricity cooking equipment. Perfect place for backpacker and young traveler.
A bit crowded and some people talked loud in the midnight. Overall is perfect for me.

I liked the room as it had just 4 females and loads of space.
The location was amazing.
The volunteers/staff I met were friendly and nice.
The place was clean and quiet after midnight.
They gave an excellent watsapp 'recommended to do/eat/see list` it was a great idea, I wish more places would do that. As the pdf could be saved to your phone
I requested a bottom bunk 6weeks before I arrived due to an injury and it wasn't available.
The toilets were a bit pokey, but other than that it was a fabulous place highly recommended

The guy who run it was super kind, he made a guide so people can get to know Genoa and where to eat, drink or whatever they want to do. The hostel gave a cozy feeling, almost as if you were staying with a family.
