Villa Marzamemi Beach

I stayed at Villa Marzamemi Beach with other nine friends. This is a great location as it is ten minutes away from Marzamemi, on one side, and Portopalo, on the other side. Franco, the host, and his wife are very nice and ready to help. A friend decided to join us at the last minute, nevertheless Franco was so kind to provide an additional bed which made us very happy and solved the issue to find another property. Upon our arrival, the property was clean and felt very spacious despite we were a large group. The closest beach is 3 minutes walking from the property which was great. We could get to Marzamemi and the beaches of Portopalo very easily by car. We spent a great week here and I met friends that I hadn't seen in a long time. I had to thank Franco and his wife for being very kind and accommodate our request for an additional person. He also provided info (such as nearby supermarkets, restaurants and things to do and to see) that made our stay even better. I recommend to stay here if you, like us, would like to visit the astonishing beaches of Marzamemi and Portopalo.

- We had some issues with the fridge in one of the hottest period of the year, which was very unfortunate. The fridge was not able to cool down food and drinks, creating a layer of ice on the back. Franco, very kindly, provided some info on how to fix that. Towards the end of our stay the fridge actually started to work. - The BBQ on the back is great but I have to highlight the lack of tools. The area is lit by a solar light, which for a couple of nights did not want to switch on - we ended up cooking in the dark. I have to say that was quite suggestive anyway. - We did not find very good to have the waste bins close to the dinner table. - The last thing to highlight was the quality of the mattresses in all the rooms - quite poor. The best place to sleep was actually the sofa in the living room. Without the issue of the fridge and with better quality mattresses, I would have rated this property with a 10 out of 10.
