Excellent villa with fantastic view. Overall very good and recommended.

Fantastic view, beautiful villa and garden. Had almost everything you might need in terms of amenities. Looks like one of the best places to stay in Portovenere. Would highly recommend!

We made our own breakfast with coffee in the fully equipped kitchen, with pastries from the village.

Be prepared for A LOT of stairs with luggage ~ but well worth the hike!

Amazing views, beautiful property, comfortable beds and much appreciated air conditioning. The property owner is very nice and kept in touch before and during our trip.

As with any property in Portovenere, there are a lot of steps to climb!

Villa with an amazing view!

The villa is set into the walls of the Doria Castello and has an incomparable view over the Gulf of Poets. It’s an incredibly peaceful location with olive trees, grape vines and lots of space. Inside, the kitchen is very well equipped, the linens are beautiful and the beds and pillows very comfortable. Good size, modern bathroom. Paola, the owner is really nice and helpful.

I didn’t mind the walk because the view and location are 100% worth it but it’s definitely not for the infirm.

Staying at the castle was an amazing experience that we will miss!

The grounds are a romantic dream with an amazing view of Porto Venere! The villa was comfortable and everything was in good working order. Communication with Paola was excellent, and she made arrangements for us to leave our luggage in the garden hours before check-in so our day was not wasted. My husband enjoyed eating fresh grapes off the vine, and picking a variety of vegetables from the garden to grill for dinner. Although you are next to the church bells, which ring every half hour, the double pane windows muffled the sound so it did not disturb our sleep. We are 55 and 60, and had no problem with the steps, but we are in excellent physical shape. If you have any problem with staircase like steps, this probably is not a suitable choice.

Although the inside of the villa is modern, and comfortable, it's lacking simple amenities that make a rental feel like a home away from home. It could use a throw rug and a comfy chair to kick back and read. Shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion would be a nice touch. (However, there was coffee, sunscreen, bug spray, and plenty of laundry and kitchen soap.) There were ample towels for the bathroom, but there weren't any beach towels. We were advised in advance that there's no WiFii or internet access, but it was hard for us to disconnect for 4 nights. The pictures are mostly accurate accept for the condition of the outdoors. It shows signs of neglect as the grass is dead, and the vegetable garden appears unattended.

Ein zauberhafter Ort an dem man locker mehrere entspannende Tage verbringen kann.

Direkt an die historische Burg angebaut mit einer fantastischen Aussicht. Eine wunderschöner und riesiger Garten in dem man sich sein Lieblingsplätzchen suchen kann. Das Haus und die Küche sind perfekt eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Die Gastgeberin ist super sympathisch und der Check-in und Check-out lief perfekt und unkompliziert. Der Aufstieg ist nichts für herzschwache und zu grosses Gepäck sollte man auch nicht dabei haben, aber dafür ist man ausserhalb des oft vollen Städtchens völlig für sich.
