Nice cottage in mountain village

Nice cottage in a small mountain village, magnificiant views, well equipped, homemade breakfast. We enjoyed also dinner served by hosts, it was very delicious and price reasonable. Very friendly and helpfull staff, feeling like home.

What a charming and wonderful place. Fantastic, kind and friendly staff. Great breakfasts and dinners. Really found -created a place in my heart for Slovenia.

Coming from the Italian border the drive is a little difficult and the location makes it impossible to just walk to a store or nearby restaurant.

Perfect please to disconnect

It’s a perfect place if you want to disconnect and feel in contact with nature. The views to the mountains, the cozy feeling of the cabin/tent, the delicious meals with products directly from the farm, it was just perfect.

Can't wait to return!

This is a gem for anyone planinng on staying in Kobarid. The family run farm stay is magical. From the hosts, to the animals, to the food, the atmosphere and the location. Our room was perfect, simple, comfortable and with good facilities. The meals were cosy, local seasonal and home made. We really can't wait to go back next year.

A place to relax and focus on the simple but important things of life. Very kind family, super great food and one of the most authentic experiences we have made during our vacations. We will come back for sure and not only because our young daughter loved the animals so much.

We loved the beautiful location, the family were so friendly and welcoming, it was wonderful to have dinner made from all the ingredients they grew or made themselves. Delightful.

The room was very simple but fine, just if you were very tall you might have an issue with the sloping ceilings 😊

The hosts were the most lovely people ever. It is a family run business and they have designed the place magically. They have cool old paraphernalia from World War 1 as the location of the pods are where battles took place. The meal we had there was to die for and reasonably priced. It is the only restaurant in town but it was made all from local produce and it was a 5 course meal.

Very good accomodation in the middle of Triglavski narodni park.

Everything there happens easily and with no pressure. You can just forget about your watch and time.

The road up to there is not that short, however worth riding for a longer stay.

Great stay because of the great hosts and the lovely surroundings

We stayed here for one night with a group of eight students and two teachers. The location is wonderful and the view is beautiful. But the most beautiful part of our visit were Aljosa and his Mrs. We were touched so much by their hospitality and friendliness. We have never met hosts that are so friendly and nice.

A unforgettable farm stay

The meals served were excellent. It's home cooked food with love, extraordinary fresh and let us have a good feel of what traditional Slovenian food is. The friendly and thoughtful host also gave us a very good recommendations to visit Tolmin Gorges (which we went after check out and it was definitely a worthwhile visit)

Amazing!

Wauw! What a nice place to relax. You can have local food with nice wines for cheap. The people do everything in such a kind and hospitality maner. Also great location to walk, go to kobarid, go to rivers, etc. Our stay was incredible! Best of our vacation.

An amazing stay in the mountains surrounded by farm animals and hosted by great guests. Food was amazing too!

We were staying in the small cabana, very nice little place and super quiet. We had amazing views of the valley and were surrounded by the farm animals. Last but not least, the owners were so adorable and they served amazing food both for breakfast and dinner!

We had to walk down to the main building to take a shower but that was expected.

Set in the mountains,, this farmstay is warm and cosy. The family room had a private bathroom. There were bunk beds for the kids. There is enough parking on site. The little suite could easily fit 5 people. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. The home cooked food is very tasty (5 courses) and sourced from their farm. Our kids loved the animals on the farm.

The owner family was very helpful and friendly. The location of the accommodation up in the countryside was wonderful and peaceful. Homemade breakfast and dinner was delicious. Big recommendation for this place. I will definitely go again.

If something could be improved, the small cabin could also have nicer dim indirect lighting. The ceiling light was very bright. A small fridge for own drinks would also be nice. However, you could buy a cold drink at the reception.

The cabin was Nice, suited us perfectly. Well equiped, clean and comfortably. We took a trail in the surroundings after som advice from the owner and ende the day with a nice dinner made of local food.

I didn't get to have breakfast because I had to depart at 05.15. The host offered me a key to the kitchen so I could have coffee.

Magnificent views and amazing food!

Stay on the top of a mountain in a rustic cabin and experience family food and hospitality at its best! So pleased we chose to stay here. It’s not fancy but the views and the amazing home-cooked food we will remember forever. Be sure to eat breakfast and dinner in the family restaurant attached to their house.

This place is a gem. We loved every bit of our stay. The owners went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and cosy. Don’t miss on the breakfast and their amazing homemade products such as honey, liquors or jams. Very kid- and family-friendly accommodation as well!

Unforgettable, family-friendly accommodation with heart. The crown jewel of our stay in Slovenia!

We loved everything. I felt like crying as we left because I loved our stay so much- we didn't want to leave. We enjoyed all of our accommodations throughout Slovenia, but this was the jewel because of our hosts. The happiest memories for our family were made at Jelenov Breg pod Matajurem. This is a multi-generational guesthouse with history and heart. It was an experience to remember, with the gorgeous mountain views and a peaceful atmosphere. We visited with our young kids, 1 and 4, and were thrilled. The travel baby cot/pack n' play was ready when we arrived. The mountainside has deer surrounding a traditional Slovene bee house, ducks, chickens, a sweet dog, and a pig. The animals were far enough away from our room that they didn't cause any noise issues. We highly recommend taking your meals at Jelenov Breg pod Matajurem, as we did each night without regrets. Well worth the money for a multi-course meal each evening. We were able to experience delicious Slovene cuisines and special cordials/juices that we wouldn't have easily found otherwise. Wines, beer, and other spirits were ready. Delicious Slovenian pumpkin seed oil was available for each meal. We were also able to happily associate with the other guests in the dinner chalet, while our kids played with the toys there. The owner of a popular restaurant in Slovenia was even there one night to celebrate with his visiting family. He took them there for dinner because it was such a beautiful time. After dinner, the hosts offered us homemade Schnapps, which were very interesting and a fun experience. We had easy access to Kobarid and Italian border areas, while still being away and able to enjoy nature. I eagerly look forward to coming back the next time we visit Slovenia! Thank you!

Wonderful hosts! Lovely people, great service and great advices on what to explore around. Great food (dinner is great value and very very good) Super cute animals around Beautiful area to explore (mountains/soca valley) and very close to the border with Italy and WW1 sites I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay there while in the area.
