So many of my reviews end up centering on the people as much as the property- likely because, as I’ve said again and again, the people are the most important part of a hospitality experience. To be clear, this lodging is not in San Vito Lo Capo. It is, gloriously, just a 10 minute drive away. Close enough to access the services. Even closer to better beaches and hiking in the local nature reserves. Far enough to not even hear the crowds. In peak season, that’s a real gift. In that frame, take this sublime locale and add in the most special guesthouse with the talented Caterina - owner, chef, and hostess - who serves up a rarely-matched guest experience. Need a recommendation for food or excursions? Need a beach chair and beach umbrella? Need some wine glasses? Nothing is a challenge. But where the time, energy, and love really shine are each morning with the exquisite homemade breakfasts made with all local ingredients and family recipes. Olive oil from Caterina’s home grown olive grove, homemade lemon mostarda, the most amazing produce and farm eggs, homemade lemon sorbet from the lemon trees - and we can’t forget the delicious prickly pear cactus picked by Caterina on the rooftop. The breakfasts honor the true spirit of the original sense of Bed and Breakfast. What is so hard to imagine is that Caterina runs this exquisite accommodation all by herself with a remarkable abundance of energy and enthusiasm. We’ve spent 130 days on the road just this year- mostly 1 or 2 nights in any given place. We stayed at Karma for five nights and could not have been happier. When you combine the location, stunning roof terrace and views, amazing breakfasts and outstanding service and care, and add in the surprising value for the experience delivered, this accommodation stands out among the very top of our list of the year. Caterina è stata gentilissima e pronta a rispondere a tutte le domande e le richieste. La posizione è ideale perché in una zona tranquilla ma a pochi minuti di auto dal mare. Il terrazzo dove si fa la colazione ha una vista meravigliosa.
