Overall, we had a nice experience. First of all, almost all of the staff members were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating whenever communication allowed (more on this in the negative points below). We really liked the location of the hotel. It is not particularly close to Heraklion city centre, which was actually what we wanted, but the city is still easily reachable by taxi at a reasonable price. There are also city buses available within about a 7–8 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel has its own beachfront area with comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas. One thing worth mentioning—although I would not consider this a negative point about the hotel itself—is that the beach and sea were quite windy during most of our stay, with fairly large waves. If you are not a confident swimmer, you may not always feel comfortable swimming there. On the positive side, the breeze made the heat much more pleasant while relaxing on the beach. We were given a corner room with a sea view, and the view was terrific. Being on the corner also meant that we got plenty of wind, which we personally really enjoyed. The room was comfortable overall, although it was showing some signs of wear and tear in places (more on this below). Housekeeping was good and reliable. Our toiletries were replenished every day, and the bins were emptied daily, so we had no issues in that regard. The balcony doors and windows also provided surprisingly good sound insulation. There was a restaurant directly in front of our room, but once the doors were closed, we could barely hear the music from outside. The air conditioning worked reliably throughout our stay and was not excessively loud. Finally, their homemade lemonades and a soft drink called Cicada were highlights of our dinners. Some of the dinner dishes were also very tasty, although unfortunately our overall experience with the food was more mixed, as explained below.

As someone with dietary restrictions, I found the food difficult to navigate. Neither the breakfast buffet nor the half-board menu listed ingredients or dietary labels (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, kosher, alcohol-free, etc.), so we regularly had to ask the staff what we could eat. They were generally very helpful and accommodating, but having to clarify or negotiate alternatives at almost every meal added unnecessary effort to a relaxing holiday. The half-board menu was also quite repetitive and became unexciting after about three days. Vegetarian main dish options were sometimes missing altogether and required modifications. For longer stays, I would recommend the à la carte menu or trying restaurants nearby or in Heraklion instead. Communication occasionally made this more difficult. While some waiters spoke very good English, others struggled with questions or requests beyond what was directly written on the menu. The dinner music was also not to our taste. We actually normally like many of the songs played there, but the electronic/techno-style remixes were distracting and sometimes made us leave dinner earlier. The room was comfortable but showed signs of wear and could use some maintenance. The curtains were sun-discoloured at places, some furniture was dented, and the refrigerator door did not close properly. The bathroom needed particular attention: the shower head was rusty, the toilet seat would not stay in place properly, and water from the walk-in shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay thanks to the location, sea view, beachfront, housekeeping, and friendly staff. However, the food experience—particularly for guests with dietary restrictions—and the room maintenance could be improved.
