Ava House Bed and Breakfast

The room was on level 1 as requested as my mum has trouble climbing stairs. However, the room was hot as there was no air-conditioning. Owner was considerate to provide a fan, which helped.

There was a lack of privacy as we had to leave the windows open for better ventilation and given that we were on the 1st floor, that made privacy an issue.

The bed was really comfortable. The house was lovely and felt safe ..pub across the road and local shop and 2 take away food places within 2 mins walk ..great location ..would definitely recommend for a brief stay .lovely bathroom ..and overall a good place to stay

No milk in the breakfast room .

When we went to make breakfast luckily there were 2 bowls to have cereal but only 1 plate for toast as other guests had us d them and there was no sink to wash the dirty dishes

There wasn’t nowhere to wash things up other than in the bedroom and the replenishment of milk and water to fill the kettle in what was supposed to be the eating area / kitchen. No replenishment of toilet paper. The cups for drinks and glasses were not replaced and the two bowls that you was to put your used cups/ cutlery were disgusting and not cleaned out once while I was there for a 3 night stay . The hygiene was very poor and needs improvement massively. Although we could open the patio doors to let fresh air in we were told that we couldn’t sit outside in the back garden for the reason that if people upstairs wanted to get changed they didn’t want to see people looking up at them !! Surely if you’re getting dressed / changed then you would draw the curtains like most people do !! On that assumption if people want to get dressed/ changed at the front of the property does that mean all pedestrians walking along the pavement and the traffic driving by are all stopped while people are dressing/ getting changed because they don’t want to draw the curtains!!
