Stóra-Ásgeirsá Horse Farm Stay

Exceeded our expectations! A beautiful setting, a very comfortable room, and excellent facilities. Everything was well maintained and made our stay very enjoyable. We would happily recommend this place and would love to return.

It’s a beautiful farm with lovely horses sheep and cows. We made use of the fully equipped kitchen.

The location is very close to the ring road, the studio was very cosy and the feeding the horses was a very exciting experience. There is also the possibility to do a horse riding tour but unfortunately the weather wasn’t right for us to try it.

The vrbo unit they put us in was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. Very quiet location in the country. The freezer section of the refrigerator was too small. If you bring anything that needs to stay frozen, there is very little room. It is the size of a tissue box.

The owner told us to notify her when we wanted to use the outdoor hot tub near the waterfall as she needed to turn it on and it takes about 1/2 hour to heat up. We notified her and went to the hot tub a little over 1/2 hour later. The hot tub was filthy with black algae or moss floating everywhere. It was a huge negative. We could feel the heated water coming out of a pipe at the bottom of the tub when we first got in. Shortly after we got into the tub, the heated water stopped and the tub cooled down. We had to cut our hot tub experience short as it became uncomfortable. It must have been turned off to save money for the owners. We were actually okay getting out as the tub was gross with the floating algae and moss.
