Karslake House

Good location and there was ample off road parking. Property was warm and cosy with a log fire and had everything you needed for a lovely holiday.

The water pressure in the shower was a little low but the water was nice and hot.

Karslake House is beautiful, even in the pouring rain and damp that is Devon at this time of year. The location is equally so from walking, visiting places like Dulverton, Dunster with its superb NT castle and Killerton House, another amazing NT property. Lots of fantastic little shops and cafes abound everywhere. Lynton and Lynmouth are close and you are at the heart of Exmoor National Park. Good pub in the village and lovely views everywhere. Our hosts are great. Very accommodating including the mince pies on arrival. The house lacks nothing. It has three bedrooms with en suites and a separate bathroom. Lovely lounge, large well equipped kitchen, garden at rear, a washing machine and dryer, etc. Go there for a shortish or longer holiday. I'm serious, the owners and property will exceed your expectations. Look at the events going on in the village and beyond. There are a multitude of different activities.

There is nothing to dislike.

Large comfortable beds (double beds - twin beds a bit smaller), good sized rooms, excellently equipped kitchen, cream tea provided as a welcome, relaxing lounge and log burner, nice to have useful things that we might have forgotten e.g. clingfilm / foil, washing up liquid / brush etc. Nice overall space in the house, friendly hosts, excellent location with very short walk to nice pub.

Water pressure on the low side which was a shame as otherwise would have had no complaints at all. Slightly odd that everything was there for cream tea including a pint of milk, which was really thoughtful - but then no teabags! Not a problem as we had our own as most people would. Kitchen towel would have been useful also - not a big deal, just another of those oft-forgotten useful things.
