La Margherita di Teriasca

Beautiful location with a sea view from the terrace. The shared kitchen was well equipped and clean, as was the shared bathroom. Host was lovely and helpful.

Parking can be tricky. Whist the beds were clean and comfortable, the single bed was coming apart at one end, and the double had a couple of slats broken. A couple of sockets had loose wires, and we're unusable.

It was a natural place with a good view and with two nice and kind grandparents.

They couldn’t speak English. The breakfast was not that good. There was no parking spot.

Margherita and her husband were incredibly welcoming. Despite my limited Italian vocabulary (some Google Translate phrases go a long way!), her husband made sure I knew all the facilities upon check-in, and gave me information on how to order some food if I was still hungry. I really appreciated their effort in communication, despite me not speaking their language so well. Thank you!! The area is incredibly peaceful - the mountain views, as well as the hiking path down to Sori really make you feel like you're away from the busyness of the coast. The succulent garden was beautiful, and on the rainy afternoon I really enjoyed reading a book on the swinging bench and on the balcony. It is very peaceful and tucked away - just what I was looking for! The room was comfortable, with screens against mosquitoes, and in-room packaged breakfast provided. The full kitchen was available for use, and the bathroom (toilet and shower in one) was always clean.

The local bus runs only a few times a day, so if you depend on public transport, make sure you have a good look at the schedules. Also make sure you have a bus ticket for the way down again, as they do not sell any on the bus. The walk down (~5km) is fine, since you can hear cars coming from far away I felt very safe. The way up (especially the hiking trail) is however quite strenuous and not recommended with much if any luggage. No restaurants or shops are in Teriasca, so make sure you stock up before, in Sori for example. This is clearly communicated, but it bears repeating, as it is not really practical to walk down and back up just to get some food. By car this would be a bit easier, although the roads are narrow and winding, and parking is quite challenging. Best to not make any unnecessary trips! It was a bit of a coordinating problem sometimes to find the bathroom free, especially early in the morning, but I imagine this depends on the guests you're sharing the space with. This didn't cause much of a problem, but if you have to leave early it helps to communicate this to the other guests. The space was a little bit noisy, but again I think this is down to the specific guests - the man in the room across from me watched a lot of videos without headphones, and then was a very loud snorer which kept me up one night. Nothing to be done about that, so bring ear plugs just in case! :)

I was late for bus so walked very long. But the view was amazing!

Great location ! Off the beaten track! Warming welcome from the host! Amazing view.

Beware of the road at night it is packed of boar and you can hear a bit the main road at night but nothing disturbing.
