Landgasthof Waldesruh

Location was excellent - so quiet (apart from the occasional braying from the donkey!). Food served in the courtyard was very good - homemade and local beer on tap too. Friendly cats (4 we think) made it even better as they lived a stroke too. Beds were comfy as well and there was a balcony too. They had a fridge on the landing that sold bottles of beer and soft drinks (€3 and €2 respectively) with an honesty box, which you could take back to your room, a really nice touch. Breakfast was good with table ready for us when we got down in the morning.

Rooms were hot as there was a heatwave. Perhaps fans could be put in on future occasions.

The hosts are very friendly and kind and the location of this guest house is amazing. It's probably worth going there in the summer.

It would have helped to know there are cats walking freely everywhere, including the kitchen, climbing near the guests' food on the table and so forth. Unfortunately we are allergic and this info is important to us. The room was cold, heating was turned on just as we arrived and it didn't make a huge difference during the night. The covers were also not warm enough and the two extra blankets (for 4 guests) were dusty and smelled so bad we couldn't use them. The insulation is very poor, we could hear the next door neighbors as if they were together with us in our room.
