Knapp House Lodges

Everything! Having it all on one level was brilliant and the grounds were well worth exploring. We really appreciated the bath and the lashings of hot water.

We loved it all!

The property we stayed in was Hunters Lodge and it really was wonderful. We had everything we could possibly need. The lodge was so cosy and warm, lovely comfy bed and spotlessly clean. We were lucky to of had a gorgeous welcome package of homemade bread, butter and fresh eggs which was such a lovely touch. We were greeted by the owner but other than that we were left alone and asked to just let them know if we needed anything. The surroundings of Knapp House are idillic and had permission to enjoy the grounds and walk freely. We had wonderful weather so this made for enjoyable relaxing stay. One thing I would suggest prior to booking if you have a dog, is to ensure your chosen lodge is dog friendly as not all of the lodges are, but Booking.com don’t advertise this fact and we did make this mistake but the owners were great and we were lucky to be able to rebook another suitable lodge which was Hunters. Over all one of the best places we’ve stayed and will be back.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike.

The lodges are set in beautiful grounds with an abundance of nature and wildlife to enjoy. It was so relaxing to sit by the pond and watch the bunnies hop about! The lodges have been renovated to a high standard and have a clean, luxurious and homely feel. I loved the focus on the environment and sustainability in the cleaning products and toiletries provided. The owners are wonderful - so helpful and the little touches they provide such as fresh bread, eggs and coffee make this a very special place to stay. Highly recommend!

This is purely personal because we hadn't appreciated the difficulty of access. We should have realised the 'loft' implications. For anyone with difficulties with steps - especially inside without any handrails it is a difficult property. For a more active person it is a really attractive property. Any criticism is about our lack of awareness of the limitations for us and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to younger people.
