Wildlife everywhere, saw more here than in the park
Beds could be more comfortable, but given the humidity in the area understandable they’re not super plush

Great little budget accommodation, only a couple of minutes' walk from Cahuita park and the village itself. Great gardens with lots of wildlife including capuchin monkeys, howlers and birds . At night there are lots of frogs at the property pond. As per other reviews, we saw more wildlife here than in the park itself

There are 2 sites to this property. We stayed at the smaller site which looked more basic and compact. Our bungalow was small but had everything we needed, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, private bathroom, air conditioning, decking area, communal kitchen if you wanted to cook and a comfortable bed with mosquito net. Cahuita is a small town, just 1 street with everything you need within a few meters of the accommodation, the National Park was literally behind our room. The bungalows are situated in a small garden area where we had regular visits from capuchin and howler monkeys, raccoons, coatis, agouti, hummingbirds and we even saw a caiman in the small creek on the boundary. One morning a neighbouring guest found a young sloth asleep curled around a yucca plant on the floor. The owner extracted him and placed him in a tree where he stayed until night and then moved on. We did visit the National Park and walked for 6 hours, we saw plenty in the canopy but to be honest our accommodation offered much more close up of the wildlife. The walk is challenging and not really suited if you are not reasonably fit. Paths were mainly dirt trails and the deeper you go the harder it gets, you need to wade through the in coming tide and clamber over trees and vegetation. You don’t have to complete the whole walk you can turn back anytime. Cahuita is a lazy slow paced town with plenty of restaurants, I don’t believe you’ll ever find yourself unable to find a table. Island Restaurant up the first side street on your right is well worth a visit, food was delicious (we went twice). Surprisingly the sea is rough and not safe for swimming, Puerto Viejo had much bigger beaches with lifeguards on duty but still not much of the water was flagged safe for swimming, the coastline is rugged. We visited Cahuita, Quepos, Santa Elena and Grecia. CAUHITA was my favourite and I wouldn’t hesitate to book the same accommodation again - it was PERFECT for us.
The decking area was a little too small although it did have built in bench/seating sadly this was facing the cabin and not the garden area. We just took the 2 indoor chairs outside to the deck and sat facing the garden.

Located on the edge of Cahuita national park. We saw the same number of animals in the garden as in the park. The bungalow had everything we needed and even more, including fridge and coffee machine. There is a fully equipped kitchen for guests use. The staff was very helpful. The place is in a short walking distance from the restaurant area.
