Bay Villas Koh Phangan

The villa was amazing. It had a great view of the sea, lovely pool and great facilities. You could also get everything delivered to your villa, for a fee, which was useful as you’re not that close to shops.

You need a scooter or car to get around as it’s hard to get around without one; even just to and from the villa as there are limited buggies giving lifts to the top.

Our villa was exceptional. Great design, beautiful infinity pool and spotless. The two double bedrooms had the most incredible views over Salad Beach. The staff (especially Beer, Boy, Nao in the restaurant and Natty) were all absolutely fantastic and made our stay exceptional. There is an app which you can order a buggy to collect you for breakfast or to take you to the beach. The beach is 10 minutes walk from reception but the buggy's are excellent if you are in the higher villas (worth it for the view). We never waited more than 5 minutes for a buggy. The buffet breakfast was excellent and superb eggs cooked to order. You can also order food and drinks on the app or ask questions about taxis or trips and again the fantastic staff always answered quickly. We LOVED it here and didn't want to leave.

The buggy service stops in the evening. This was fine but if you don't like walking you will need to get taxis back from the beach. Salad Beach bars will all arrange a cab if you ask so not too much hassle.

The view was very good, out over the bay at sunset. We were in an apartment above the tree line which did give us some amazing views of the bird life as well. There was a good sized shared pool which was warm. Staff were very plesant, alwayscwithba smile. IF passing in golf buggy they would stop to take you up or down depending. Breakfast was served down in the Flow Cafe. This was next to the reception area. It was a buffet style breakfast which had a very good selection and was included in our accommodation.

The fact that the apartments were situated on a very steep hill. This made a stroll to the beach quite an expedition. Staff were more than happy to collect from and return to apartment using a golf buggy, but the fact that the Villa's were on such a steep hill did prevent some spontaneity with regards to nipping to the beach. Other members of our family stayed in different villas, and they were even further up the hill! The fabric of their villas were superior to our apartments, but it was such a hike it was very off putting in the heat. Overall we had a lovely time in Salad Beach, but we would not return to the Bay Villas, mainly because of their location, preferring you stay closer to beach.

Great villas, not so great service. We just love Salad beach! We spent 3 nights here at a 4 bedrooms villa. View is incredible over Salad beach. Very peaceful, as villas are located in a good distance from each other. Villa equipped well, but on reception, you get informed that housekeeping is only after 4 days and if you want any or even a new towel, you should pay (50 bht per one). We understand it’s difficult and maybe not reasonable to clean a huge villa every day, and it’s not necessary of course (we also love to take care of the environment), but changing towels every 2 days is nice when you have a pool and a beach activities and is very reasonable even to just offer if needed. Very good breakfast with bakery and food variety and espresso machine (that has a long line and very slow). The buffet restaurant is small for the number of villas and there is a waiting time at rush hours. You can order a shuttle down to the street or to the beach and back to the villa, but take in consideration that it can come within 5 min or most of the time in 20 min or more. Checking out is very intensive. You get notification in the evening before, early in the morning and then questions when are you planing to leave. More like a bootcamp than a vacation. Accidentally we broke a soap dispenser. The way and the amount they told us to pay for it was very unpleasant and the price was unreasonable. There was no “price list” like hotels have, just an out of the blue price. It’s OK to ask for money, but there are ways. I was talking the the geneal manager and she didnt respond, just ignored me. 11 am and we got whatsapp with the reception is not available now, went down (the very long steep hill) and 3 were sitting there chatting. So it felt very intentional ignore. When we arrive one of the ladies accidentally broke one of our suitcases’ wheel. We noticed her, she smiled and continued walking. We told her she broke it and she ignored us.
