Functional in a good location but not a luxe hotel stay

I had a Spacious room & bathroom & it’s comfortable

Been to this hotel 3 times over a decade and it feels like it needs a refurb, lift carpet worn out, no valance on the bed, towels & sheets clean but stained, breakfast pastries not fresh, bathroom silicone needs replacing etc. Looking a bit basic for the money now. Just next to a favela so it’s a bit less relaxing than other areas outside the hotel.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, always doing their best to assist with any request. The breakfast was also good, with a nice variety of options. The location was decent as well.

The hotel is quite outdated and needs serious maintenance. My room was on the ground floor and felt very depressing. The shower was leaking, and there were no proper quilts provided — only a thin sheet, which was uncomfortable to sleep with. The air conditioner was extremely cold, and for some reason I couldn’t lower the temperature, so I eventually had to switch it off completely.🫠 In the morning, the dining area was also freezing, with no moderate or comfortable temperature. There was also a lot of humidity on the walls in the hotel’s interior corridors, which didn’t give a good impression. The location was okay, but overall the stay was not comfortable.

Disappointing

Nice room and breakfast

The fire alarm went off 3 times in 2 days because an other guest was smoking in the room. The staff did nothing about it, they put the guests life at risk by allowing said behavior and not calling the police

sometimes was a wait for elevators, seemed to have some water pressure issues the last couple days of our stay, the guy who checked us out not friendly. place needs a bit of a refresh. was a better property before COVID time

The staff was brilliant, very friendly, professional and efficient. The room was very cool.

There was no room service for food. There were no glasses in the room, only paper cups. The lighting in the room was unpleasant, only white lights, no warmth.

Great location just in between Copacabana and Ipanema, friendly and helpful staff, quiet room and amazing buffet breakfa

The location and staff are fantastic. The buffet breakfast is excellent with a lot of variety. The bed was comfortable and big (king size) and the room was quiet (we were on the 13th floor).

No Smart TV, no simple cutlery, and the bathroom was fairly old with some mould. There was also an unpleasant smell from the bathroom we think was there because of poor ventilation. There also were no extra towels in the room.

rooms wasn’t clean enough for a 4 star hotel. design is completely outdated, air conditioner wasn’t cooling enough so it was hot. breakfast was good if you like eating cold omeletes. if you dont- it is just ok.

Disappointing

I stayed at the hotel several times in the past but under another administration, when it was Best Western. I like the location and the decor.

The location is good and the staff is nice

I was disappointed about the parking because in the description of the facility is write that there is a parking but when we arrived the receptionist said that it was full and then he indicated another one as a partner but in the end we paid for that
