    Facilities are old but still decently maintained. Location is not the best although it is next to a large mall and about 10 min walk to the subway. We were there during off season and the place felt quite dead and very residential. If you are only in Fuzhou for a short time, recommend to stay in Sanfang Qixiang area instead.

    Our family booked a total of 4 rooms for 3 nights at Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou, and I’m sorry to say that our experience was highly disappointing. Firstly, one of the rooms we were assigned had a strong mouldy smell upon check-in. The furnishing in that room was run down and old, clearly lacking proper upkeep. The shower temperature was also unstable, making for an uncomfortable experience. The hotel concierge seemed indifferent and failed to assist us with our luggage, despite clearly seeing my father, who has limited mobility. This lack of consideration and basic customer service was frustrating and disappointing. Moreover, despite staying on a non-smoking floor, we noticed that smoking was allowed, and the smell of smoke was evident. The staff who sent room service to the room,didnt take any action to stop the guest for smoking or address the issue effectively. On a positive note, the hotel's location is excellent, with eateries and shopping mall nearby, and the buffet breakfast selection was impressive. However, these positives did not outweigh the overall disappointing service and room conditions. The stay did not meet the high standards we’ve come to expect from the Kempinski brand, especially when compared to our experiences at Kempinski Bangkok and Bali. I hope the management addresses these issues to improve the guest experience.
