Fantastica

Can't really add much to prior sterling reviews. Everything about del Giglio was superb. Owner/hosts Roberto and Laura are just fantastic. If you decide to stay here, it's so much better than what you can see on-line. I really wished we could have stayed longer than 3 nights. I appreciate that there are many, many choices in Tuscany, but San Donato is an under the radar gem of a village. Great base for exploring northern Tuscany and a quick 30 minutes from central Florence. Highly, highly recommend.

Only minor complaint is seemed like hot water supply was a bit limited.

A gem in the heart of Tuscany.

Staying at the B&B Del Giglio was not only the highlight of our trip to Italy, it was one of the best places we have ever stayed in all our travels. It is located in the heart of a small, medieval Tuscan town surrounded by culture, history, natural beauty and great food and wine. The apartment itself is amazing - it's spacious, charming, historic, and so relaxing. But what makes this place so special are the hosts. They were attentive, thoughtful, and warm individuals, who made it their mission to make sure we had the best experience possible. They made us feel like part of a family living in Tuscany. It was picture perfect.

Excellent experience, would come back and stay longer.

The host is extremely friendly, he spent much time introducing his B&B facilities etc, recommended places that we should visit. He made us feel very comfortable like staying at our own home. The entire apartment is well designed, kept clean and in excellent condition. I am vert proud of the host! Other B&B operators should learn from him.

Charming apartment with charming host, incredible terrace and views!

Everything was perfect from the smallest details to the big ones! Location was great for getting to explore the surrounding area. Our host Roberto made our stay even better with his exceptional personality, passion and knowledge of the area!

Beautful! From the accomadations to the beautiful yard and wonderful hosts.

Breakfast was wonderful. It was cooked fresh by our host and his wife. We sat outside in the lovely garden under the olive trees and grape vines.

I don't think there was anything we did not like. It beat my expectations. We'd love to stay here again in the future.

An excellent location to explore Tuscany – close to Florence, Siena, and many charming villages. Highly recommended

The property is exactly as in pictures: practically a slice of heaven located in the middle of Tuscany . The owner attention to details is amazing: multiple phone chargers near the bed, light switches right where they should be, sensor lights near each step so you don’t stumble, big mirrors, air conditioning (which is rare in the country). The fact that it has 3 full bathrooms (with shower and bidets) is a big plus. Comfortable beds, multiple choises for breakfast. Roberto is a wonderful host, full of stories about the area and gave us a lot of good advices. We could also wash our clothes for a small charge (6 euro).

Nothing - I am just sorry we don’t drink wine, so we didn’t enjoy the selection available at the property. I am sure that it might be a great experience

OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO STAY IN TUSCANY!

We have just returned from our 3 week vacation in Italy. Our absolute FAVORITE place we stayed was B&B Del Giglio! Roberto and his wife were the most amazing hosts! Lawra's breakfasts were prepared with love, and cooked and served to absolute perfection! The 2 bedroom, 3 bath apartment was stunning, and so well cared for. We WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BACK AS SOON AS WE CAN! The charm, views, beauty and location of this special spot in the world was an honor to find, and we so enjoyed Roberto, as a most gracious host, and wonderful man! We miss it!!

Trip of a lifetime, to be remembered for my wife & I.

We received a breakfast menu each day for the next day. Menu was outstanding with several areas to choose from. Food was absolutely delicious. It was a great way to start our day. The location of Del Giglio is perfect. In the middle of Tuscany, ie:Pisa to the west, Siena to the South, Florence to the North, & the Chianti regions to the East. Roberto. Laura, & Beatrice were unbelievable hosts, friendly, informative, & willing to share their experiences with us. Info on restaurants, wineries, places of interest were available on a daily basis. Overall, a wonderful 2 weeks!!!!

There were no negatives on Del Giglio. Roberto may use my wife & I as references re: the excellence of Del Giglio!!

The most relaxing and beautiful stay you'll ever have!

We didn't realize we were booking a "house" and it was beyond what we could have expected! We are a family of 4 ( 2 teenage kids). Our hosts met us outside and brought us into their home. We assumed we were "renting" 2 bedrooms in the home, but it turns out, we got the entire home, complete with 3 full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living/dining room, a wine cellar, and a beautiful outdoor garden. Our hosts gave us a complete tour, including recommendations for places to visit and eat. The hosts live right next door, and we saw each other each morning and evening, as we sat outside in this outdoor garden full of flowers, trellis' and grapes. The home is old, and I mean that in the most sincere way! The stonework and craftsmanship are exquisite and the hosts painstakingly restored the home to its full glory, being a home from the renaissance age. The furniture is antique and I wouldn't want it any other way. There is a wine cellar in the home, equipped with local wines and beers. No, the wine wasn't free, but you could buy the wines from the hosts and enjoy them on the outside terrace. The town itself is charming, quaint, and easily walkable. Everything is peaceful. You can enjoy the view for miles and a gorgeous sunset. It's not located in a tourist center, but that made it easy for us to get in and out of the town. You are about 30 minutes to 1 hour from lots of tourist cities like Florence, San Gimignano, and Arezzo. Plenty of wineries all around as well. We stayed for 3 days and didn't want to leave. If you are looking to relax, there is no better place to be. You cannot park your car in front of the home, but there is street parking nearby.

Great hosts and beautiful house

We absolutely loved this house. Nice, big, with a garden and very confortable. We're thankful for how lovely Laura and Roberto were showing us around the house and the art inside it, and baking a cake for our birthday too! They take care of everything: recommendations and information about the sightseeings which were of great use. San Donato is just near of all the interesting places to visit in La Toscana: Florencia, Pisa, San Gigminano, Siena and all the vinyards. We hope to come back soon. Thanks Laura and Roberto!

Everything. Laura and Roberto were so welcoming and gave us great tips for sightseeing and eating. Their home is immaculate with love and attention to the smallest details, and the views of the Tuscan hills are spectacular. You won’t regret staying at B & B del Giglio in the beautiful village of San Donato.

Superb!

Everything about this property warrants a superlative, as has been said before. Laura and Roberto are excellent hosts and take great pride in the apartment, San Donato and surrounding area. It is truly gorgeous here in spring, sitting in the lovely garden and enjoying the panorama. And what a fantastic cellar room. Perfect for 2 couples.

Прекрасна старинна къща, с усещане за лукс, комфорт и уют. Разположена е в центъра на селището, и е част от старинен каменен замък. Имотът разполага и с частна винарна. Помислено е и за най-малките детайли. Снимките напълно отговарят на действителността. Леглата и възглавниците са изключително удобни. Отседнахме в къщата, заедно с приятелско семейство, за 3 нощувки. Бяхме любезно посрещнати от домакина и неговата съпруга, които за нас са супер-домакини. В определен часови диапазон ежедневно се оправяха стаите. По време на целия ни престой бяхме обгрижвани от собствениците на имота: получихме невероятно вкусна и домашно приготвена закуска срещу допълнително заплащане, както и напътствия какви забележителности и ресторанти да посетим. В същото време домакините запазиха дискретно дистанция, когато си почивахме в красивия двор с изглед към тосканските полета. Като цяло мога да определя престоя ни в този дом като един от най-добрите, в които съм отсядала в Италия. С удоволствие бих посетила тази къща отново. Горещо препоръчвам имота на всеки, които иска да усети истинския дух на Тоскана и да се почувства специален. Благодаря, на домакините за предоставеното ни изживяване в техния дом!

Ett fantastiskt boende på en underbar plats.

Ett boende som slår det mesta. Sköna sängar i trivsamma rum. Fantastisk frukost i underbar miljö. Värdparet Roberto och Laura gjorde allt för att vi skulle få en trevlig vistelse i deras otroliga hus. När vi behövde tips och vägledning så fanns Roberto där och hjälpte till. Det var lätt att hitta parkering och nära till allt i den lilla(!) och mycket pittoreska staden San Donato in Poggio.

Außergewöhnliches Wochenende

Alles war perfekt! Sehr sauber, riesiges Apartment, sehr sehr freundliche Gastgeber und das Ambiente in dem kleinen "Dorf" der kleinen "Stadt" ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und ich möchte mich noch einmal beim Gastgeber selbst bedanken! Einfach ein Genuss dieses Wochenende!!! :D
