A young man named Joe managing the reception desk helped us when we arrived and we got an unexpected downpour. He did a marvelous job getting us unloaded and into the hotel and settled into the room. We were soaked but he was so helpful.

The Townhouse is really well located for the RSC theatre. A 3 minute walk. Perfect. It’s just the right side of shabby chic and the room layout was good. The waitress who served us breakfast was also very sweet.
Unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives. We paid £159 for a night’s stay, including breakfast. When we arrived there were no towels in the room, the wardrobe door was being propped shut with the bin, there was no natural light in the bathroom and the shower was powerful but not particularly warm. We were told the bar/hotel would be open until 11pm but when we returned - post theatre - at 10.20pm everything was closed for the night. Overall quite disappointing.
