Nice one-night stay to discover the beautiful region of Black Forest

Nice location to discover the peaceful village, and the surrounding countryside. The staff were nice and helpful. The hotel and its restaurant were beautifully decorated. Many parking spaces in front of the hotel.

We didn’t like the food and it was very expensive.

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff and surroundings

I loved everything about my experience. The hotel staff were fabulous and the room was lovely. I highly recommend spending the money on a lovely romantic dinner in their restaurant. The tables are decorated so beautifully. It was one of the highlights of our European holiday.

Very minor but the parking is outdoors and it was a rainy day when we arrived. However the hotel staff come to the car and carry your luggage! So that's also outstanding.

Best breakfast you can find!

Reception was very gentle. Good staff. I enjoyed the pool. Watching the stars was fun too. Beautiful nature. Good breakfast. I wish I had more time to try the bath.

Smell was a bit funny and the bed was a little worn out.

The breakfast and dinner were very good. The staff was super nice and gentle. The hotel was a little weird for a non-European. I was amazed by the ironing board in the hallway. Interesting and faszinating concept. I would like to wear one of those exotic gorgeous traditional Schwarzwald hats they have on display.

The breakfast fruit was not very sweet. Everything else was great.

Very cosy and charming. We were well looked after by all staff.

Staff went out of their way to make sure my Mum enjoyed her 86th birthday. We had not mentioned it - they noted it on her registration document. Very sweet. Great restaurant too.

All the lunges in the pool area were occupied and there was nowhere to sit - too cold outside.

Beautiful hotel, well worth a visit

Superb hotel in a great location if visiting the Schwarzwald. Lovely room and a very good restaurant. Indoor pool is excellent as is the garden with sun loungers. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable place to recover from a hard day's hiking in Schwarzwald!

I stopped over in Schönwald whilst hiking 'Der Westweg' in Schwarzwald. This hotel was almost too good for a simple backpacker like me! It had a fine restaurant and the breakfast was excellent. The evening meal menu was good but somewhat expensive, probably because the hotel caters for business events. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.

Not really worth this money and no way 4 stars

Restaurant and spa in the same building, cleanliness, nice and friendly hotel stuff

Room furniture is quite old fashioned- rather 90s style, boring view from the window to the street with cars and parking, cheap pictures on the room walls, not possible to fully close the windows by the curtains- you have to wake up with the sun, mattresses are old and not comfortable at all - we could not sleep well and would not recommend this hotel.

Great food in a pretty local hotel

Great food for Dinner, awesome breakfast buffet. Dinner was a bit pricey for Germany, but the quality was worth it. Room was nice, but didn't have a balcony and was quite hot under the roof. Lovely staff especially in the restaurant! Lovely terrace to take a drink or dine.

Not much, maybe the toilet next to the restaurant, there were so many insects there that we'd rather use the bathroom in our room.

Standard expectations were not met.

The location was good. The garden was beautiful. The decoration was nice and traditional. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant.

Our room was located in the old part of the hotel, so it was not renovated. The beds were squeaky and the room was not soundproofed, we could hear everything from the corridor. The breakfast was not rich in choices and the restaurant was quite expensive.

Very good for a nice weekend trip

This is a very nice hotel. We had a great time. We went there for our hiking trip and to have a nice relaxing time in the spa. The staff is very nice and friendly. They recommended us nice hiking routes. We had a dinner in the restaurant, it was pricy but amazing. Even the salad I ate tasted so good. I highly recommend it.

The spa was very crowded both days we were there, so we couldnt enjoy the spa as much as we wanted to, we spent the majority of the night in our room resting. The swimming pool was also crowded and small so we couldnt even enter and did not want to wait for so long, so we left. I think they should think of upgrading the size of their spa facilities. Other than that everything was nice, clean and modern.

A great place to relax in a welcoming environment

Excellent breakfast, very welcoming staff, an enjoyable spa area. The restaurant is also a high level option for dinner, I would specifically mention a 10+ pages separate menu just for (after dinner) spirits. Walking distance from some simple slope, if one wants to ski. Driving distance from other excellent locations of Schwarzwald, plus parking spots in front of the hotel. All the ingredients for a perfect relaxed stay.

Beds and pillows were not the best I had in a hotel of such category, but I mention this just to suggest a possible improvement

The property was very nice and it had an vintage feel to it. It felt unique because it felt like a specialty hotel versus a normal hotel. the interior characteristics were very unique to the region and gave a sense of comfort throughout the entire property. I liked the nice open living room area between one portion of the place and the other which opened up to double doors that led outside. I imagine visiting in the spring is even nicer.

I didn’t like the renovations that were taking place during our stay however it is the off season so I don’t blame them for doing the renovations now. I didn’t like the step up into the living room or step down because the lights didn’t turn on immediately so you could trip and fall and that’s not great considering you may be walking fast in the dark.

Excellent weekend Getaway

Absolutely wonderful venue. Our room was well-appointed and the staff took excellent care of us. it was my birthday, and without telling the staff they noticed my birthday from my ID and provided a special stay. We look forward to returning again in the future!
