All of it was perfect very secure cool inside the home There are genius net shutters on all of upstairs windows and doors so keeping bugs out wasnt an issue, The views are stunning

Air-conditioning in Master room was tricky couldn't seem to work it however others worked just fine and the ceiling fan kept us plenty cool enough as we left balcony door open for an hr or so before bed which cooled it fine. .

The host was a lovely man very friendly with a personal welcome and a lovely goodbye visit before we left. He is very knowledgeable of the area and was available by phone to help when we needed. Towels and everything provided for a stress free holiday. Pool was wonderful to lay by and dip when hot. good amenities fitered water on tap etc. Shops a short walk and never struggled for parking space. The house is a brilliant size washing machine and dishwasher were great and plenty of outside spaces to enjoy some alone time if you travel with others you are definitely not under eachothers feet with a bathroom for each bedroom there is no need to fight over areas. Each window and door had shutters and mosquito nets and aircon in two bedrooms upstairs. We intend to return for sure!! Thank you for some beautiful memories this place really is a hidden gem 💎 xxx

We really dont have any negatives to be honest it really was a stunning place to relax and just take some time to enjoy the slow pace of holiday life.

Peter's house is exquisite, everything from the interior that is all finished beautifully, lighting, vinyl collection, games collection, kitchen, is considered with love and due care. For me as a photography lecturer, the walls and shelves curated with linoprints, paintings, ceramics were divine, and there was a great range of photography, illustration and art journals amongst a multitude of books genres, that introduced me to a range of contemporary and historical Spanish artists. The established gardens were a mini version of the Generalife gardens at the Ahambra, with orange blossom, lemons, nesphoria, succulents and beautiful birdsong, including a Hoopoe bird. The view to the mountains and the ephemeral quality of light there was sublime. We had a delicious fish/seafood lunch at 4 nudos, spent a couple of days in Cabo de gata exploring the area and had a day on the beautiful quiet playa de los Genoveses (we were there out of season). We also did the walk to Huebro and ate at Casa Enriqueta for a lovely traditional lunch and a light mocking from the owner for our terrible Spanish. The local panaderia La Tahona is definitely worth a visit each day for their unique range a sweet and savoury artisan breads. Nijar is a small, friendly town, that is not too touristy, but it has all you need and is perfect to explore the area. As for Cortijo el Grillo, there is no better place to play backgammon whilst listening to Tom Waits - thank you Peter.

An all round superb stay. Loved the house, gardens, pool and facilities. Host Peter was helpful, friendly and very informative. Would highly recommend and will definitely return in the future.

For us, there was nothing at all to dislike !
