Perfect location in a perfect village

I love the village feel of Kirchzarten, the convenient location of the Bike Hostel near the train station, the good value, the Konus card for free train transport in the Black Forest region. It’s always a perfect stay here.

A great place to stay in a nice little town

The landlord was very welcoming and kind. The apartment was very well equipped and comfortable, if a little small for four people. Everything was very clean, and the shower was nice and strong. Kirchzarten is a lovely little town, a much quieter alternative to Freiburg, with good transit connections there and to the surrounding countryside. It was easy to walk everywhere. The bakery cafe across the street from the hostel is first-rate!

The wifi in the apartment was too weak for a video meeting, so I did my work meeting in the deserted lobby, where the wifi was much stronger. The pillows were oddly lumpy and the duvet covers a bit scratchy, but the mattresses were comfortable.

Marco was a wonderful host and the Black Forest Bike Hostel a perfect place to stay!

Marco was there to check us in and the room was clean and ready for our arrival. We were a little concerned about a shared bath which was the only room available when we booked, but ended up not being an issue. The separate shower and toilet were always clean and almost always available when needed ;0) Marco was extremely helpful and gave us wonderful tips for our visit on where to go and what to see. The location was ideal for trips into the forest and also for time in the city of Freiburg. The Bike Hostel was our favorite stay in the Black Forest!

Excellent localisation in a nice green town of Kirchzarten with all facilities and perfect to get to Freiburg and other cities nearby.

Can be a puzzle to find a free moment to use the toilet as 3 apartments (with a capacity of 3 persons) are sharing only one WC (noise of slaming doors can be thus frequent).

Great village location with easy access to Freiburg and the Black Forest. Well equipped kitchenette. Lovely staff; happy to chat and help with any questions. Dinner recommendations were spot on.

The stay in the hostel is super nice! Although I did not manage to see the house lord, I think he is a quite nice guy! He provide me with quilts immediately after I said it is a bit cold to sleep during the night. The apartment is very nice and clean, big room and living room. It probably is possible to contain 6 people. Really nice experience.

It was great to have a huge balcony. The location is cute with small bakeries and restaurants around. Very nice place.

I was surprised how close the place was to the railway. It was confusing with checkout 10.00 a.m. the latest and the reception opens then. We had to leave earlier in the morning and had no idea how to check out.

Comfortable stay at convenient location, great customer service

Clean, modern apartment with private entrance, garden, and small but well equipped kitchen. Beautiful new bathroom with great heating. They provided a high chair for our 2-year-old upon request. Some others mentioned the trains passing by as an issue, but they provided lots of entertainment for our two little ones! :) The twin beds in the bedroom with the door have roll out beds underneath them for additional sleeping options (and protect kids from rolling out of bed onto the floor!). The hostel is just minutes from the train station, which takes you straight into Freiburg. The owners were suuuuper friendly and welcoming! Thank you! We loved our stay here!

Only thing was the lack of a door to the main bedroom (with the double bed), which we didn’t realize when booking, but it worked out anyway.

Black Forrest Bike Hostel rocks!

Marko was super helpful and very friendly. He assisted us with a highchair and some insider knowledge. It's nice to have a bike wash station and some tools as well as a bike shed. The hostel was very clean.

Friendly hosts, nice appartement and a good starting point for some walkings/cyclings

The hosts were very friendly. The appartement was exactly what we looked for. The kitchen had everything you need for a short stay. Close to Freiburg (30min cycling) and also close to some walking tours. Our bikes could stay in a safe spot and even received a key to get to them whenever we liked.

Friendly staff, clean hotel

I loved the friendliness from Marco, he was very smiley, polite and gave good tips. Although we started a bathroom, it was always clean. Our room was nicely organized and had everything one could want on a longer stay! Kitchen was very complete, bed was comfy and we even got some complementary coffee :)

Good location, free parking and decent value. Very clean, nice terrace but the table needs replacing. Location is central, next to a lovely cafe for breakfast and a short (3 minutes) drive to the supermarket. T

We didn't read the description fully and assume that an 'apartment' comes with at least a fridge, a kettle and some basic crockery. Seems we booked just a room with an ensuite. City tax is annoying hidden little charge that's more annoying to have to remember to pay than the actual cost.

Alles prima hier

Ganz tolles, sauberes, komfortables Hostel. Das Apartment war super sauber, zweckmäßig, aber gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Lage ist ideal zwischen Natur und Freiburg, beides schnell zu erreichen. Bäcker gleich gegenüber. Check- in war flexibel und problemlos möglich. Der Besitzer ist sehr, sehr nett, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Alles absolut empfehlenswert. Gerne wieder.

Marco熱情地接待我們，並詳細介紹了黑森林地區的景點。旅館地點非常便利，位於火車站附近，對面就有一家麵包店。房間很乾淨，牆上有許多插座，熱水穩定，暖氣也很暖。房內有足夠的櫃子與架子可放置物品，並提供熱水壺與杯子。坐在房外的陽台上，可以悠閒地享受午後的陽光。旅館還提供 KONUS Gästekarte，讓我們能自由搭乘公車與火車遊覽黑森林地區，非常方便。整體住宿體驗非常滿意，誠心推薦給大家！ Marco hat uns herzlich empfangen und uns viele Sehenswürdigkeiten im Schwarzwald vorgestellt. Das Hostel liegt sehr günstig, in der Nähe des Bahnhofs, und direkt gegenüber gibt es eine Bäckerei. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, mit vielen Steckdosen an der Wand. Das Warmwasser war stabil und heiß, und die Heizung war angenehm warm. Es gibt genügend Schränke und Regale, um Dinge zu verstauen, sowie einen Wasserkocher und Tassen. Auf dem Balkon vor dem Zimmer kann man wunderbar die Nachmittagssonne genießen. Das Hostel bietet außerdem die KONUS Gästekarte, mit der man Bus und Bahn im Schwarzwald nutzen kann – sehr praktisch! Wir waren mit unserem zweitägigen Aufenthalt rundum zufrieden und können das Hotel wärmstens empfehlen!
