Moonshine on Whiskey Creek

The view of the mountains are incredible! The hike is amazing but tough and would recommend to families with older kids - it’s very steep - but so beautiful. The sauna is lovely and feels like a special spa with the best sunset view. The cottage is well equipped and in the cold weather we were grateful for the cozy fireplace and heated bed warmers. The pool, playground and lawn games are also great for outdoor activities!

We had such a lovely stay at Moonshine on Whiskey Creek. What really stood out to us was how beautiful and thoughtfully put together everything is—the space feels both comfortable and well equipped, without losing that sense of being somewhere special. The views from the cabin are absolutely stunning and create such a peaceful atmosphere. We especially appreciated how friendly and approachable the staff and owners were, along with clear and easy communication throughout. It made the whole experience feel relaxed from start to finish. There’s a great balance of facilities and experiences available, which we really enjoyed. The pool area is perfect for warmer days, while the sauna is a real highlight—warm, inviting, and a nice way to connect with others. We also loved having our own braai facilities (gas and wood) and a cozy fireplace, which made it easy to settle in and enjoy both the afternoons and evenings. Another standout for us was the natural beauty of the property, especially the hike to the waterfall—it’s a truly special feature that adds to the overall charm of the place. Overall, it offers everything you could want and more, with a great mix of comfort, beauty, and thoughtful touches throughout.

Nothing

We stayed in Tree Frog cottage, as a couple, since we like to have some space. Everything you would need in the kitchen, as well as 2 braai's (on gas and wood) was there. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, but the cottage has a wood stove as well as an electric heater. Also, there is an electric mattress heater on the double bed and extra blankets. The pool area was really nice, and a bit of a surprise since it is not advertised very much.

When we arrived, it was very warm inside. The cottage has no air-conditioning and no insect/mosquito screens on the windows - so you end up opening windows to het the heat out which also means a mosquito hunt afterwards. The bed could be longer, if you're over 1.95 tall, you'll have difficulty keeping your feet under the blanket and warm.

The most stunning location, peaceful and lush, just a ten minute drive from Plett central. The cabin is completely private, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with the most amazing balcony views. We adored the unique mosaic shower with stain glass windows. Our host Carol was helpful and responsive when we had questions or needed recommendations.

Being a cabin in the forest, there were (naturally) spiders. Fortunately they are the non poisonous type.
