I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint regarding my recent stay at Amsterdam Forest Hotel, specifically concerning Room 004 The condition of the room combined with the behaviour of staff made my stay extremely unpleasant, leaving me feeling distressed, unwelcome, and anxious. Issues Experienced in Room 004 1. Overpowering Foul Odour • The room had a strong, rotten smell coming from either the air vents or bathroom drains. • The odour was so severe that it made the room uncomfortable and nearly impossible to stay in. 2. Unhygienic Mini-Fridge • The mini-fridge was visibly dirty, with stains and residue, suggesting it had not been cleaned for a significant period. • This raises serious concerns regarding hygiene and maintenance standards at the hotel. 3. Damaged Bathroom Door • The bathroom door was broken and poorly maintained, adding to the room’s overall neglected appearance. ⸻ Unprofessional & Patronising Staff Behaviour Aside from the room issues, I also encountered an incident that made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable: • The outdoor seating area had extremely dirty cushions, covered in stains and cigarette burns, making them unsuitable for use. • When we attempted to move one of the cushions aside due to its poor condition, a staff member immediately approached us and, in a patronising tone, asked if we had “lost something.” • This interruption was inappropriate and unprofessional, especially as we were mid-conversation. If we had lost something, we would have approached the staff ourselves. Instead, the interaction made us feel judged, monitored, and unwelcome. ⸻ Impact on My Stay The combination of an uninhabitable room, poor hygiene, and patronising staff behaviour caused me significant anxiety and distress. I booked this hotel in good faith, expecting clean, safe, and comfortable accommodation — yet what I experienced was far below acceptable standards.

The bed was comfy but the windows were horrific and the noise was constantly coming from extractor or air con system at the back of the building with us being in room 305 on 3rd floor

The location The shower was flooding the bathroom and the room The shower glass door is mounted with a massive gap at the end which allows for water to escape without control

Had to book here as vehicle not allowed in clean air zone and this is just outside the perimeter and it has parking. Easy bus route to city.

Breakfast not included. Could have been cleaner. Coffee machine dirty with water left in it. No spoon.

Good value for money, comfy beds and great room. Located close to Amsterdam with a busstop closeby.

Some staff at the reception really didn't want to be there it seemed.

- Quick check-in - Many small restaurants in the neighbourhood - Shower was good - Free parking on the road during a Sunday (I recommend to include this in the description of the hotel), no need to arrange for the internal parking (12,50 euro per day) - Spacious room - Internet was good

- The room was too warm and this could not be individually changed per room (only centrally) - Rooms were a little bit outdated with some stuff not fully fixed to the wall anymore - Missing chair to be able to work using the table and a laptop. - Beds were ok, but a little bit too soft for me

the receptionist, who was noticeably unfriendly and unhelpful during check-in. A warmer welcome would have made a big difference to the overall stay.

Location suited for purpose of our visit.

Very small bathroom, sink in bathroom was blocked, toilet not clean, two pillows but both too fat and uncomfortable, one of the beds was sagging, airco didn’t work so had to open window and due to noisy installation on the roof it was hard to sleep. Lady at breakfast not very friendly. I forgot until what time breakfast was so looked it up in the hotel directory which said on Sunday and Public holiday, which it was, until 11am. We got downstairs at 9.50am and she said we only had 10 minutes. So fruit was nearly finished, one egg left, etc. All in all we had a good weekend but not thanks to the hotel!

Convenient location to the bus stop, walkable area, and great for individuals and families alike. The staff was both courteous and friendly. I truly enjoyed my 5-day stay here and hope to come back. I even had a window view of a canal behind the building- beautiful!

The young lady at the reception that checked us in and out was very helpful and friendly.

The room was brilliant and the facilities were too. The coffee machine in the room made great coffee. The fridge was useful for storing any left over food. The safe was good for keeping things like passports and boarding passes. The staff were very helpful, especially the girl working in the morning.

The first room I was in was far too close to the elevator, toilet and exit. I was woken up everytime someone used these facilities. However the staff did move me to another room and that was great

Room wasn’t that clean but beds were very comfortable . Breakfast could have been better for the money.

The hotel was perfectly located to the hockey clubs we were visiting and it was easy to get to Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Schiphol airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable.

Does the job if you need somewhere for a couple nights, okayish location, bus station just outside which take you to Zuid Station and then a train to central, staff a little blunt at times but other than does what it needs to do

The hotel locates in a peaceful area. The breakfast was very good.

The location is so far from the center and needs to bus for reaching the place .

The room was clean and comfy with a nice sized desk for work purposes. I really liked the many options at breakfast at it was of really good standard. They had bicycles which you could hire on a daily basis.

The only downside was that the room was not made up a couple of times during my week stay, but did speak to reception about it.

I like the breakfast and the room’s decor and cozziness. The sorroundings of the hotel are very nice, as well. The staff were always nice and willing to help with everything we needed.

it would be nice if the tv had Netflix, HBO or something like that. Or that you could use your own Amazon stick but can’t put the hdmi thing inside

To far from Train 15 min walk. The Public transport system was hard to negotiate - this hotel is outside of red bus zone so quiet expensive if you plan to go into town each day
