Cabana Victor

It was our first time in Romania, and our very first night there, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If first impressions really do shape how you feel about a place, Vicky definitely made sure we fell in love with Romania from that very first night. She and her whole family were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we felt at home straight away. It honestly felt more like visiting family we hadn’t seen for years than staying with people we’d just met. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, we were talking about them for the rest of the trip! We’d had a long and tiring day of driving, but somehow we still ended up eating, drinking and chatting until late because it was just too lovely to go to bed. The place itself was beautiful too, with so many lovely traditional folk details and decorations that really captured the spirit and character of Maramureș. It felt authentic, warm and full of local charm, rather than simply being a place to stay. Vicky took such great care of us, and you could tell that she wasn’t doing it simply because she was hosting guests. She has genuine hospitality in her, and you can really see how much she enjoys having people around and making them feel welcome. We loved our stay so much that we actually changed our plans and tried to spend our last night at Vicky’s place again. Unfortunately, she didn’t have enough space for our big group’s last minute request. So don’t hesitate, book Cabana Victor, I’m genuinely a little jealous that you get to experience it ❤️

The staff (a couple) was really nice, and the evening meal was really good (their fishes). They welcomed us with home made delicious cookies and palinca.

The beds are extremely old and not comfortable, both matts and beds sheets. They should be replaced. And also in one of our room a bad smell was coming out of the bathroom.
