Lovely cottage, hard beds, many spiders.

It’s a lovely place to stay, in a beautiful old town.

Lots of spiders inside, and the beds were extremely hard.

Very poor

The location (Chevreuse)

Gîte l’Olivier used to be a cave, no windows in bedrooms, wc and shower room. Humidity all along the stay (August !!) and need to switch-on radiators to reduce, somehow, this persistant humidity inside. No cleaning product or toilet paper provided (1 roll for 11 days) although mentioned clearly on booking acknowledgement.

Very uppset with this place

Location is nice. The garden is very nice but not relevant in a cold and rainy weather.

Oh... we had a big disappointment. We arrived to find out our 'cottage' is a weird apartment with almost no windows (at the bedroom, bathrooms and toilet- no windowes what so ever). We asked to move and the host allowed it. The next cottage Was a little bit better, but still.... immposible kitchen, living room almost doesn't exist. Sound of cars from the road. We asked for coffee for the coffee machine...they sent us to buy. We asked for toilet paper (1 roll is not enough for a week) - again- buy your own... Never asked how are we (although I mentioned we came for medical care), or if we need anything. Even though we where door to door with the hosts, the wife said hallo once!! In a week! Finally, we checked out. Organized a little bit took out the garbage. We recived an email from the host, unlike anything we have ever seen: they where uppset and angry we didn't clean the room, made the bed, cleaned the toilet.... didn't we pay for this kind of service??? After a week stay - Isn't it logical that the host cleans the room. To conclude - find someplace else!!!!

We'll be back!

The garden and the gite were beautiful, well decorated, and the garden is fabulous. The host is lovely and we really enjoyed the size and spaces in the gite. The bed was extra cozy and there is loads of personality in the place.

It was not very easy to find parking at certain times, however, it was easy to walk around. In our specific room, you could hear the cars pass, but being from Paris, it didn't bother us at all. The gite could have used some basic cooking items like salt, pepper, and oil but it was well stocked in terms of equipment and dishes.
