Dom Gościnny Kalina - 200 m do Parku Pałacowego

Very nice house on the main street but still very calm. Everything was as expected and we ha pleasant days.

The kitchen is small and for serious cooking not suitable but small dishes are manageable.

One of the most handsome houses in the village, with a big garden. The kitchen might be a bit small for 8-9 persons anyways but we didn't go for cooking so it was just perfect for us (a quick bite before and after the trips - and the restaurants of the village are lovely, the staffs are kind, the selection of food is really wide.) The all-wood covering of the in- and outside of the walls with stone inserts make the ambiace of the house uniquely amazing! The host of the house always answered quickly which made the organization of the trip and the arrival swift and convenient.

Keys were left in keysafe and we only saw the host because we needed to put the heating on as my elderly parents were frozen. There was no instructions at the property about the heating or anything else for that matter. I had to contact booking.com to get hold of host as she didn't speak English (despite saying they did on booking.com) and didn't respond to texts or phone calls, even when I translated the texts into Polish. However, after contacting booking.com, she came and put heating on promptly. The beds are comfortable, but there are no blinds or curtains at any of the windows other than net curtains- even toilet/shower in full view of street. There are 3 bedrooms, and the beds consist of small doubles and very narrow singles.There are also 3 toilets and showers which wasn't clear on website. Everywhere was very clean. The kitchen was primitive and electrically hazardous (sink and electric cooking rings integrated, all appliances plugged into 3 amp extension lead so trip blew every time we put on kettle and electric ring, kettle dripped onto extension lead etc! ). It had no windows,no oven, no toaster, and not even a corkscrew or tin opener, and was seperate to living area. The seating in the living area was inadequate and uncomfortable. there was a big dining table and plenty of dining chairs. There is a shop selling beautiful fresh bread (but get there early!) and other essentials immediately opposite the villa, which is located very close to the church, palace park and reserve entrance. I can highly recommend the Stocek restaurant which is a few minutes up the road. No need to book, lovely food, staff speak English.
