If you come to Munduk, you have to stay here! This family is wonderful! And they cook delicious food!
Gangga is located on a hill, which I recommend because it's quiet and you can sleep very well, and you can get to the center of Munduk in 10 minutes by scooter.
The view is beautiful.
I absolutely recommend this place. And they will help you with everything, they're kind and helpful !!! Thank you!!! You are the best!!!

The view . And the staff
The path can be tricky . Google Maps will send you in the rice fields ,Make sure you don’t follow Google Maps blindly . It can be dangerous( small road ) . Find the village first and go from there

Stunning views, great location! Incredibly friendly people, arranged a driver for us who gave a lovely tour of the region
Wet bathroom was a bit musty, ventilation in the bathroom could be better

My boyfriend and I had a lovely two-night stay at Gangga. The family are friendly, helpful, and great company. We wanted to rent a scooter, and this was sorted out stress-free ready for us in the morning; we needed a car transfer to another city and again, they organised a driver for us with one call. The atmosphere at the place is very welcoming and family-oriented and it's nice to sit and hang out in the restaurant area downstairs. On top of all this, the food is DELICIOUS! Highly recommend staying here and enjoying the delicious home-cooked meals.

We traveled around Bali for two months, stayed at plenty of four-star resorts all over the island, but none of them matched the hospitality and tranquility that we experienced at Gangga in Munduk. The family is so kind and welcoming, the home-made food is delicious, the views from the terrace are one-of-a-kind, the sunsets are gorgeous and the overall vibe is just magnificent. We also met many interesting other people coming through here, and everybody was scrambling to book extra nights and sad to be leaving. We also extended our stay and were even invited to partake in a Balinese ceremony, which was a unique experience for us. All in all, I couldn't think of a better place to stay in Munduk :)

We loved our holiday at Gangga Homestay! The owners were such nice people and were very enthusiastic to share Balinese culture with us. They were also very helpful: they helped arrange the airport pickup, renting a scooter, laundry, and recommended nice walks in the area. The Homestay is in a cute little rice field, away from the main street of Munduk so that we could experience the "real Bali" and see what daily life looked like for local people. The view from the rooftop is amazing, and we saw many interesting birds and animals in front of the house, even fireflies. The food was also amazing: ibu made the best nasi campur we have had in Indonesia! We also went on several trips with the lovely driver Putu, who is a relative of the owners, and had many interesting conversations about Balinese culture with everyone. Ibu also told us about the many fruit trees and plants that grow around the homestay, very interesting!
Some things to keep in mind when booking: The rooms and bathrooms are very basic, this was fine for us and we were very comfortable, but if you are looking for luxury this is maybe not the place for you. The Homestay is surrounded by nature so of course there are insects. These are things you should be aware of but are totally worth it to stay in such a beautiful natural environment away from the tourist crowds. Also be aware that if you are not an expert at driving a scooter, the homestay is quite remote and you will have to walk up the hill to get to the main street/restaurants. But the Homestay has amazing food so it's not necessary.
We are very grateful for the hospitality of Gangga Homestay and would recommend it to anyone who loves nature and wants to experience authentic Balinese culture. Terima kasih Gangga Homestay!

The host, the view, the breakfast, the little roads to walk around!
It is lovely to stay here. We spent 4 nights. From here we could go to many beautiful waterfalls shortly.
I attach an image of the map that shows you the less steepy roads to go there. There are many little roads that take you to the homestay, but some of them are scary steepy! We followed Google map to go there on the arriving day and it was my horrible 30 minutes on that scary steepy roads. It’s nice to walk only, not by motobike.

The host was amazing! Very helpful and welcoming. And she cooks great, some of the best foods we had in Indonesia was there :). She even prepared breakfast for us at 5:30AM, because we were leaving early!
Also, the surrounding area is beautiful, the view on the rice fields is great, and You could sleep well there - it actually is peacefull (which is not that easy to find in Indonesia).
I was not aware of how far it is to Munduk - 30 minutes of walk, up and down all the time. With such a hot weather, without a motorbike it can be inconvenient.
Also, would be great to clean (or replace) the curtains and the mosquito net (which have many stains on them and are not appealing..), refresh the walls (the paint is peeling off in many places) and fix the bathroom doors (it's hard to close them).
Anyway, the price-to-quality ratio is still good :). But I am surprised nobody mentioned in in the reviews before.

Munduk is a little mountain village. This Homestay is about 1km from the main road, letterarly into the forest. The view is magnificent on the valley and some little rice fields. The owners are very kind and helpfull
The shower and sink drains are not siphoned. Because of this, there is an annoying smell in the room

Everything. The area is amazing and surrounded by a lot of waterfalls and rice fields. You can relax a lot and forget the tourists of Bali for some days. Also the food is amazing and they help with everything you need ( transport , food , tour guide …)
Nothing.

Gangga Homestay was such a wonderful place to stay near Munduk. The people who run the homestay couldn't be kinder, more considerate or more welcoming. The room is simple but comfortable and clean. The view is stunning, and you're surrounded by rice fields, jungle and small villages. But the best part is the home-cooked food. I think I had the best food I've had Indonesia-wide here. There's also a lovely, peaceful rooftop to chill on.
The only thing I would say is that there are very steep hills to get to the Homestay. If you're a novice scooter rider like I am, perhaps call the Homestay. They will very kindly pick you up 1km away on the main road and help you get there.

Delicious home cooked food, generous hosts, and a peaceful setting -- we were so happy to have stayed at Gangga, one of the best homestays in all of Bali. The host's nephew took us and some other guests on a day long hike to the waterfalls and then played some great guitar songs for us later that evening.

Fantastic place with amazing people. Gangga Homestay is located in a small village, and you can fill the taste of nature. A lovely family owns this place. They are doing everything for your comfortable stay. Breakfast is included and huge and tasty; views from the cafe and rooms ( on the second floor) were breathtaking. There is a rooftop where you can watch the stars or sunset.
The rooms are simple but very clean.
I suggest only providing Showergel or some toiletries.

A fantastic find. The drive to and from, in either direction is amazing.
Ayu and her family were wonderful. Friendly, fun and so welcoming, thank you.
Very attentive to everything. The room was beautifully situated with a.comfortable room and delicious food on offer at very reasonable prices.
The views are spectacular of the rice fields, jungle, coastline and Java beyond and a sunset to die for.
A spontaneous jamming session in the evening with guests, which was great fun, and as I had a very early start Ayu laid on a delicious breakfast to send me on my way.
Big hugs all round when I left.
Will I go back? For sure.
A very memorable experience. Matur suksma to you Ayu and your family and wish you all the success in the world.
Absolutely nothing.

Spent one night by myself at Gangga, and it was a very nice one! The room is very clean, the bed super comfy, the breakfast was very delicious and the view ... man, what a view! Munduk itself is also such a wonderful village with very nice people.
Special thanks to Komang. Such a great person! Make him your friend as soon as you arrive.

The family is very welcoming! they are the nicest people! they do everything they can to make you enjoy your stay at his best.
The food is nice. They can order nice massages for you.
The environment is amazing: in the middle of the rice fields. they are 2 pools near by if you would like to swim
The location is a bit far from the main road and the restaurants.
The frogs are very noisy at night. Bring your earplugs!
The bathroom is a bit old

The best part about staying at Gangga Homestay was the family. From my arrival to departure, Kadek, Ayu and Daki were incredibly hospitable and caring. I could ask for no better hosts.
My taxi was stuck in a rain on the way here, but Kadek came to pick me up. During my stay, his nephew Daki guided me to different places and so patiently answered my questions about Balinese life (I hope I wasn't too annoying!). It was a pleasant surprise that this felt like a genuine homestay, not just a lodging.
The food that Ayu cooks is tasty (especially the gado-gado), perhaps even better than the many warungs that I have tried in Ubud. In addition, the views from the terrace are amazing: you can see rice paddies, the hills, and even cruise ships on the ocean. The sights and sounds of nature make one feel alive.
I stayed here for only 2 days, and regretted that it was too short. I highly recommend Gangga Homestay, because ultimately, it is the people here that you are not going to forget. Suksma!
The house is a bit far from the centre of Munduk (after all, this is the countryside). But the owners were happy to help with or offer advice about transportation.

Gangga Homestay is located in the heart of the rice fields of Munduk, which offers a great view for the upper rooms. The owners are kind and attentive, always ready to help. The food, whether breakfast or dinner, is always excellent. Gangga is definitely the ideal place for a stay in the middle of nature in Munduk!

The family were extremely hospitable and very friendly. The scenery was wonderful. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend.
Nothing, it was really great.. Just be a bit confident on a motorbike getting to and from location if you are riding a bike.

Not only was the view incredible but I’ll tell you the best part was the staff. Daki, Agus, and every other member of the family welcomed us in, and after three short days, we felt like WE were family too. They brought such genuine experiences to our stay and went out of their way to make sure we had EVERYTHING we could possibly need. Truly the joy we felt with every moment here is indescribable, you will have to come and experience this for yourself.
nothing it was perfect.

I have been to Ubud and Amed. Yet I give Gangga Homestay a 5/5 if you want to have an authentic Balineses experience.
Gangga sits near the head of a valley with lovely views stretching down to the coast. On a clear day you can see the volcanic mountains of Java.
The food is delicious. The first few days I ordered from the menu, then asked Ayu to prepare the same dishes they ate. Honestly I have pinched myself every meal for it’s savoury and spicy deliciousness.
The owners Agus and Ayu, and their nephew Daki have gone out of their way to make my stay memorable. Their care is heart felt.
Gangga homestay is about 1 1/2 kilometers from Munduk. I wanted to be within walking distance of other restaurants but have never exercised that option. Transportation is available to anywhere in mere minutes.
It is just off the tourist conveyor belt, with the same access to hikes, waterfalls, temples and swimming.
What I love about Gangga is you can feel the rhythym of rural life. I originally intended to stay one week, and am now into my third week I love it so much.
Most travellers just come for a couple of day, however most have expressed regret when leaving. It is not a 5 star hotel but has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The Sunsets are amazing. The hosts, engaging.
Quite often the evenings are punctuated with the acoustic sounds of both Western and Balinese music. Guests often join in.
I have been travelling for over a year, learning and discovering where I feel most comfortable on the road. I have travelled across Europe, North Africa, the Adriatic, and camped for 2 months in Canada. Gangga homestay has been my favourite place so far. A peaceful respite where I have been able to feel at home with local Balinese culture. This will stay with me forever.
If you are looking for an authentic Balinese experience you won’t be disappointed with Ganagga homestay.

This homestay is very simply a 5/5. The rooms are tidy and clean and you’ve got your own bathroom. Every room has a little balcony, which is separated by a wall to the neighbouring rooms, and the view from it is beyond amazing. Altough the Homestay is a little off from the center of munduk, it got all you need: a fridge with fresh cold beverages and a small warung on the ground floor. The warung is family owned and the food is one of the best dishes I had so far on Bali! The owners of the Homestay are always kind and incredibly helpful - even if that means bringing a doctor to us in the late evening or us to the doctor in the next village. They also guide you safely to the waterfalls close-by. I would come back over and over again, simply because I felt like being at home and taken care off. Thank you so much for the great experience in munduk, terima kasih!
