Gangga Homestay

Lovely family who will look after you during your stay. If you do not have a bike to get around in the area, they’ll take care of everything! The roads can be rather steep in Munduk so it may be better to have them arrange transport anyway. For breakfast, the omelette and banana pancakes were amazing. Make sure to experience the sunset on at least one night at the homestay. Order the ayam betutu or ayam bakar for dinner and watch the sun disappear over the rice fields in front of the homestay. Dayang rice terraces is also a short ride away. I was there during planting season, it’ll definitely be even more beautiful just before harvest season. Even though the homestay is not in the area where a lot of the other accommodation options are (near the waterfall trek), I hitched a ride to the Melanting Waterfall trailhead and did the four waterfalls (Melanting, Labuan Kebo, Red Coral, Golden Valley) in one day. While the rooms are basic, the bed and duvet were so comfy and you get natural aircon from the temperature outside. Nice to see the stars at night too 🤩 I got the best sleep of my life in this place. Bibi Ayu is so kind and she cooks with love because everything was ENAK!!! 😭 Deddy is so helpful and enthusiastic about sharing about life in Munduk/Bali. This was so much more memorable than staying at a random villa or hotel. Thank you Gangga Homestay (Deddy, Daki, Ayu, Kade, Suyana) for an amazing time in Munduk 🙏🏻

We had such a wonderful stay at Gangga Homestay in Munduk. The room is lovely, cosy and welcoming, but what truly makes this place so special are the wonderful people who welcomed us and made us feel at home from the very first moment. First of all, there is Ayu, the heart of the house, who welcomed us with her warm and gentle smile and cooked us the most delicious lunch. Her food is absolutely amazing and made every meal feel like something special. Then there is Kadek, her husband — and, of course, the boss! He has the most contagious smile and was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. He arranged a scooter for us and gave us the best advice on where to go, including recommending the beautiful Banyumala Waterfall, which we absolutely loved. They also introduced us to Komang, our guide for our adventure in the forest. He was so much fun to be with, incredibly knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even more memorable. And then there are Dedy and Ducky, their nephews, who also help run the homestay. They are both so friendly, funny and warm, and really made us feel like part of the family. Our last evening was probably the most special moment of our stay. We had dinner at the homestay, once again enjoying Ayu’s delicious cooking, and afterwards we all sang together — Dedy singing with us, Ducky playing the guitar, and Kadek joining in. We laughed, sang and had such a wonderful time. Staying at Gangga Homestay gave us something much more precious than simply a beautiful place to sleep: it gave us the chance to experience the warmth of a Balinese family and to feel, even just for a little while, like we were part of it. Thank you, Ayu, Kadek, Dedy and Ducky, for your kindness, your smiles and all the beautiful memories. We will remember you with so much affection and truly hope to see you again one day. The family is really welcoming, it feels like home. They are full of advices to visit the localities around (i was suppose to stay 1 night and stayed 3 nights at the end and they gave me a lot of advice on what to do around, I even came back to stay another 2 nights as this place felt nice and people lovely !) Plus they have amazing walks from their place on the ricefields and country side. And they are really available for any necessity and find always a solution to help. I could not find a way to go to my next destination and they help me out and find a way ! So greatfull. The food is really good and the view from their place is absolutely delightfull. The room is nice, bed really confortable and breakfast very good !

Ayu. Kadek, Daki, Dedi, Su, Wei and many other friends and family members made our stay absolutely fabulous!! Nothing was too much trouble for Ayu including shifting around my son's room for Max internet connection so he could hold a work call to people in Europe. The brekkie was delicious, the welcome and warmth from all family members exceeded expectations and made this one of our favourite Booking. Com stays to date. The rooms were clean and had the most magnificent views of ricefields and mountains after a hairy road in. We were also gifted with wonderful song nights as Daki professionally strummed his guitar and sing many known songs so we could join in. On a couple of different nights other friends came and sang and strummed so it felt like an ongoing concert...just heart warming and fun. My son and I also loved the rice field walks and fireflies at night. I also walked from Gangga to the waterfall circuit and completed the stunning circuit. The dogs make a fuss as you pass sometimes but soon settle after you pass. Also have to mention Ayu's niece who did our washing at a very good rate and got it back on the same day. Thankyou, thankyou thankyou for a truly memorable stay at Gangga homestay...it was sooo special and memorable for all the right reasons 💖
