The location was great, right in the middle of things. No parking at the hotel, and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or not happy to lug a suitcase - but there was parking very close by. We had a balcony that looked over the square outside, a fun but small break-out space. The staff were friendly, helpful and very attentive. We liked the city, as, although busy, it felt less overwhelmed by tourist numbers and we enjoyed walking round the sights; very beautiful and atmospheric with a number of fascinating, historic buildings. We found good restaurants. Breakfast in the hotel was OK - a fairly standard buffet. The seafront is, typically, beautiful and the views from the heights of the town, breathtaking.
As there is no parking at the hotel, some offer of help for people with their baggage to and from the carpark would be good.
The groundfloor area beyond the reception is quite cramped. As a couple, we didn't feel inclined to linger, and groups found it difficult to be seated comfortably together.
