The stay at this Hotel was very pleasant.

There was a technical problem booking directly with Hilton Southampton website, so we booked through Booking.com instead. advertised at £115 for the room plus breakfast, when we paid we were charged a total of £159. When we got to the Hilton Southampton reception we were told we hadn't booked for breakfast, and we were charged again for the breakfast plus Parking. We tried to contact Booking.com but they were unavailable. We ended up paying more through Booking.com than we would have paid if we had gone directly through the Hotel. We hadn't pre-booked for an evening meal but we were warmly welcomed and shown a table, the evening meal was very tasty. The following day we checked out and our bill showed we had been double charged for parking, which the receptionist refunded. It is a nice hotel, we would happily stay there again. There was ample parking.

The outside decorative woodwork is very shabby but the inside is very good. The bed was a bit hard and the duvet was too thin. The breakfast was average. The Booking.com website is not clear and difficult to be sure what you are actually paying for.

Definitely a 5* rating

Everything was up to expectation. I love staying at Hiltons - always guaranteed the same high standards. My room was comfortable and had all I needed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was of a high standard and most enjoyable. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone needing accommodation in the area.

I would have liked an executive lounge as Hilton has in their Islington Hotel.

Not a hotel with any facilities and the gym is terrible. Average restaurant food at most.

Our room was clean with a nice view

No clear signage that parking is cheaper for guests so we downloaded the parking APP and paid £20 when it would have only been £5. The hotel is misleading with the spa as it isn't for guests. The booking website clearly shows photos of the spa so it's misleading and we heard several other guests complaining.

Great location for business events, a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast.

I was there for an event - what a great location - easy to get to, plenty of parking, great meetings facilities, the food was lovely, and to wake up to the views, especially at breakfast, was the icing on the cake. Really comfy room and good sized bathroom.

Weekend family visit

The room was large and spacious, our window looked over the cricket ground, the facilities within the room were all good. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty

No internet (was told by reception when I checked in that it had been down all day) So, they knew about it before I arrived False Fire Alarm at 05:30am Bedroom 129 had not been cleaned properly - there was large colourful confetti under the desk and chairs Food at Memorial Service for Martin King - issues which the family will tell you about seperatly

Great hotel and location. Very friendly staff. Lovely spacious room. No noise at night. We ate in the bar. Was very nice. Breakfast was good with a good variety. Reception and bar staff very pleasant.Price for parking was great at £5 a day. Would definately stay here again .

Exceptional Service from booking to departure from all staff in the hotel. Nothing was to much trouble and often went over and above. Rooms were really comfortable and a great nights sleep. Breakfast was amazing. The teapot is a massive plus!

Our second stay in less than a month and still very good. Quality is good and the breakfast is a must, the rooms were comfortable and once you get the heating on it’s good.

A place of calm and comfort

The reception staff were excellent and quick with the procedures. The room was clean, organized, and spacious. The seating area on the balcony and the view were wonderful. The breakfast was very good. My family and I enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Location to my mum in Locks Heath and friends in the New Forest was perfect.

As a resident we shouldn’t have to pay to park. I stayed in January and no fee. Also a fridge should be in every room.

A very pleasant stay, with great staff, but underwhelming room.

The room was nice but underwhelming in the little touches. I expected biscuits with the tea and coffee, a larger bath towel, a sink that drained and a hot shower. I didn’t get any of these things.

Breakfast was good with a varied choice, although three guests came down in pyjamas and slippers and personally I do t think they should have been allowed in as I felt it was unhygienic and not what I expect to see in a public area.

Almost a five star stay with just one or two eminently fixable minor niggles. We would stay again.

The bed was huge which was a real treat. The room was extra spacious, well appointed, and clean. The bathroom/shower products were top notch. The breakfast was well worth upgrading for - a wide selection of food in excellent surroundings. We really liked the staff who were genuinely friendly, polite and super-helpful. Thank you.

Despite the overall experience meant for an enjoyable and comfortable stay, there were probably more niggles than there should/could have been which just took the edge of our stay. The mattress was too hard. The duvet didn't fit the cover so there was no insulation from the cold along a strip around 30+ cm on one side. There was no hot chocolate which is a standard in British accommodation as a bedtime treat. :( The air conditioning control panel was designed by engineers for engineers and not the best for tired guests to try and work out the optimum comfort settings. The windows were large and had good sound insulation, however, there should have been a small section which could be opened to let fresh air in. The aircon cannot match fresh air from outside and, irrespective as to whether the room was hot or cold, the air was always a bit too hot, or a bit too cold and the room was always rather stuffy. At breakfast we seemed to have to wait a little bit too long to be seated. The breakfast was self-service which was fine, although whilst I was sat down at our table and, after my wife was trying to figure out the tea and coffee machines, I was asked if I would like any tea or coffee which came across a bit perfunctory and, of course, too late. :( All easily fixable minor detractions which just took our visit down from a five star to four and a half star stay. We would stay again. Thank you.

Overall we really had a great time at the hotel, it was easy to park and the whole hotel felt clean and well maintained.

We booked a balcony room for the fireworks and it was well worth it, great view and we kept dry! The room was a good size and comfortable for 4 of us. The bathroom products were lovely too.

The shower didn’t drain very quickly and I was worried I was going to flood the bathroom, pillows far too soft and the room was cold. Not enough cups and glasses or water for 4 people to use, no biscuits for your morning cuppa and breakfast not included, so was very expensive for what felt like a “no frills” stay.

Enjoyable and comfortable

The breakfast was good. A good choice of options and good quality food. The room was comfortable with a nice Outlook over the golf course. Bed was very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The room was difficult to find a good temperature. It was too warm at night. Air con didn't do much. Shame there were no opening windows. Prefer fresh air. There was a blood stain on the bed sheet that was a bit off putting.
