Beautiful property, very clean, and staff is very friendly
The property is a few miles away from the downtown, shops and restaurants, but they have bikes you can use to get to it

Our stay at the Mariposa in Placencia, Belize was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was incredible. We were greeted right at the airport and shuttled directly to the resort, which made the arrival completely stress-free.
When we checked in, the experience immediately set the tone for the trip. At reception we were handed cold washcloths and refreshing cocktails while they completed the check-in process, the perfect welcome after traveling.
We stayed in one of the treehouse accommodations tucked into a wooded area, and it was absolutely perfect. The room had a comfortable king-size bed along with bunk beds, making it spacious and cozy. It was equipped with everything we needed: a coffee maker, TV, AC, and a stocked refrigerator. The bathroom was beautifully set up with a rainfall shower and hand sprayer that always had plenty of hot water.
The staff truly made the stay exceptional. Every single person we encountered was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The service throughout the entire resort was top-notch.
Most of our meals were right on site at the restaurant, and we were happy we did. Whether dining under the grass-roofed palapa or poolside overlooking the sea, the setting was beautiful, listening to the waves while enjoying a meal. The food was consistently delicious, fresh, and surprisingly well priced. And of course, happy hour every day didn’t hurt!
Plenty of beach chairs and loungers available whenever we wanted to relax. We either walked or biked into downtown Placencia each day. The resort provides bikes for free, which made getting around easy and fun. Taxis are also quick if you want to head out to try other restaurants, Rumfish was our favorite dinner spot in town, followed by gelato from Tutti Frutti for dessert.
Overall, it was the perfect blend of relaxation, great food, and warm hospitality. Mariposa is a place we would happily return to and highly recommend to anyone visiting Placencia.
One small thing worth mentioning about the beach, like many beautiful tropical places, there are no-see-ums that like to take a little nibble while you’re enjoying the sand and sea. The great part, though, is that the resort clearly anticipates this and makes it incredibly easy to deal with. They provide abundant bug spray and sunscreen for guests completely free of charge, so you’re always able to stay comfortable while relaxing outside. It’s a thoughtful touch that shows how much they care about making sure guests can fully enjoy the beach and sunshine without worry.

What’s not to like? Gorgeous beach front, adorable ‘tree house’ that was clean, comfortable, nice shower / bathroom, and a lovely balcony to hang out on, nice restaurant and pool / beach side patio with great food and drinks, kayaks and paddle board for use. We loved it here. We had a rented car so the drive into town was no issue
