Casa Modesta

Owners and staff were very friendly, and genuinely cared for our dog - she even got a bit of training from an expert dog trainer! The place is very beautiful and confortable, you have many little spots to stay private around the property, including a terrace with a wonderful view. But there are also sitting areas where you can meet and chat with others guest, with owners and staff. Overall very friendly place. Breakfast was excellent, healthy, lots of fruits, different breads and home made cake different everyday. There is a beautiful path 2 minutes from the property that follows the Ria Formosa and the salines, where you see lots of marine birds and even flamingos. They have bikes to borrow. Our room was small but had everything we needed and a rather large bathroom. Outside was a hammock and above a terrace with a beautiful view of the ria. The common areas are all very beautiful, simple but tastefully decorated and everything was clean and tidy. There was no fridge in the room but they let us keep a few things in their fridges.

The hotel is unique, very clean, and surrounded by nature with beautiful views. I really appreciated the strong focus on natural elements, and Carlos was an excellent host. The breakfast was very good, with the only exception being the Danone yogurt.

I think the room is overpriced for what it offers. It is very small. There was barely enough space for one adult and an 8-year-old child. We had nowhere to unpack our luggage, which made the room quite inconvenient. It was also hot. The air conditioner was noisy and positioned right next to the bed, near our heads. Everything was very simple, in a typically Portuguese way—designed to make things as easy as possible for the hosts, while the guests’ comfort didn’t seem to be a priority.

Beautiful countryside, lovely converted farmhouse with pool, gardens and great views. Close to Ecovia biking & walking trail. Easy access to Olhao & Fuseta. Breakfasts amazing & traditional evening meal delicious. Very friendly, helpful staff. Bike’s available - we didn’t have car so great to be able to bike to towns. A very special place.

Breakfast was good, swimming pool as pleasant. Staff are great.

Place is dated for the price charged. Room very small, light in bathroom didn't work, found rubbish from previous tenant in rubbish basket
