La Casa del Quetzal Private Rooms in Historic Mérida

Really good value for money. For the price, the room is massive and very clean, good shower and pressure and there’s a kitchen which has a microwave, mini oven, kettle etc. The location is slightly outside the main historic center but it’s not a long walk and the area felt safe. For the price I really don’t think you could ask for more.

the property itself is very well maintained, nicely organised, clean and with no-brainer parking outside. the room is spacious, well isolated with a good bathroom and a small fridge inside. very nice terrace, shared living room and kitchen. i was happy to stay there and would like to recommend.

About 30 minutes walk from ADO station and main plaza, 20 minutes from large supermarket. Great accommodation with a few rooms set away from road, so nice and quiet at night. Friendly, helpful owner speaks English (among other languages) and also responds quickly to WhatsApp messages. Entrance by electronic key pad, and keys to room on arrival. Seems to be a safe area. Very clean. Excellent wifi/internet/network. Basic kitchen (small electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, electric kettle, juicer, cutlery & crockery). Drinking water provided. Table and chairs to eat at. Shared front lounge area with large flat screen TV (not used by us, so can't comment on quality). Small book swap. Local information available in a neat folder. Washing machine available to use, with drying rack. Large bedroom, large comfortable double bed, bedside units and lamps, good lighting. Storage cupboards, rail and coat hangers. Chair and laptop table. Small fridge. Air-conditioning. Ironing board (and iron once requested). Hairdryer (not used, so can't comment on quality). Table and chairs outside room to relax at. Good sized bathroom, good lighting, 2 sinks! (With mirrors and own lights). Decent, hot shower.

No visible signs of recycling. No oven trays available for the small oven, other than what comes with it. Kitchen would benefit by having a 2 ring hob added. Light not brilliant in kitchen area. The air-conditioning unit sometimes struggled, maybe the filters need cleaning? No bin in bedroom.

The location was quite close to the city center. Pretty affordable option.

AC wasn’t turned on when we checked in, so the room was warm for the first few hours and the AC unit was also weak and took few hours to cool the room.
