Lincoln Country Dream

The place was clean and tidy and the hosts were super nice. Loved being in the country. Well equipped.

Could possibly have an upgrade to a heat pump for heating... otherwise the little fan heater is not really efficient. It kept the place warm though.

The Fletchers, their property, facilities & services provided my wife and I with an excellent overnight stay. More's the pity that it was just for the single day/night but, and you can see where I am coming from, it's unlikely to be our last time there. We occupied a separate guest part of the house that was at one end of the main building/attached garage. We had a single large bedroom cum living room and bathroom/toilet available with a compact 'stock room' (for want of a better word) in between. You walked from the one to the other through the stock room, through two doors. Easy. In the stock room there were shelves of kitchen equipment, plates, utensils, etc. with sufficient space to enable you to prepare basic foods for breakfast, for example, or to dine on a takeaway meal that you had purchased from Lincoln Town 2-3 km from the property. Any further away and your takeaway food would have become cold when returning. There was plentiful food available for a conventional breakfast. The stock room also contained bathroom supplies. You'd probably need a torch to move from the bedroom to the bathroom/toilet during the middle of the night - rather than putting the lights on (and waking yourself and partner). The place was warm and comfortable. The entrance door is at the rear of the house over-looking an enormous garden. There's a covered veranda along the length of the house with the entrance door at the far end - under cover. Outside, under cover and adjacent to the door there was space/furniture to sit and/or enjoy your breakfast and/or simply enjoy a glass of 'something white, cold & tasty' overlooking the lawn in the evening. At the far end of the lawn and behind the trees you could see cattle walking/grazing. The place is of the order 2 km from the Lincoln-Prebbleton Road via Days Road and a short hard seal road across open land/between adjacent paddocks.

Nothing comes immediately to mind. Lincoln Township nearby provides supermarket, hotel/pub and a selection of takeaway and dine-in restaurants/cafes. You'd probably need to plan/purchase ahead for dining in and/or breakfast before arriving.

Lovely, quiet, peaceful location, yet still near the town of Lincoln. You can easily biff into town for dinner, market, etc. Jo & David are very nice and the room is large, comfortable with lovely garden views.
