Nice stay, but with some room for improvement

The apartment was very clean and spacious. The location was good and the host was helpful.

- Although we knew from the beginning that the room has no sea view, we were quite sad to realize that we had view over the parking lot. I think, it would have been fair, if we had known in advance. - There was no coffee machine in the room. For the price of the room, it would gave been nice to have one. - The sink in the bathroom was small and hence very uncomfortable. - In the fridge, there was one can of beer (we were a party of 2). I think, this was a bit awkward. It would have been nicer to have 2 cans, or else none at all.

Jeannette was such an amazing host, and a wealth of knowledge when it came to local scenes & sights. The view from the top floor is nothing short of breath-taking. My wife & I loved our time here and would stay again.

Very comfortable accommodation, good value for money and an excellent hostess

The view from the room was excellent with a lovely balcony which looks over to the ocean. The room was comfortable but not particularly spacious. The hostess Jeannette was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay

We did not dislike anything but perhaps if the lodge was slightly closer to the beach this would improve the overall rating

Perfect!

Our Host Jeanette was fantastic and nothing was to much trouble for her, she was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the room was immaculately clean, the view from fromt he veranda was picture postcard and to cap it off the Breakfast was truly splendid!!

The lodge is a lovely welcoming home with beautiful views of the ocean. Excellent host, who truly takes care of guests with yummy breakfast and interesting conversation. The place is sparkling clean and very comfortable. Close to amenities and great swimming spots and white sand beaches.

Fantastic Mangawhai B&B

Absolutely loved this place!! The Beachcomber room was so comfortable, even if it was the smaller room. Very smartly outfitted! Nightstands and lamps on each side of bed, plenty of outlets, place to put two suitcases plus a chair, shelf unit for items and hanging clothes. Pedestal sink had a 2-shelf unit next to it for toiletries. Very nice shower/toilet bathroom. Jeannette is an excellent host! She offered suggestions of things to see and places to eat. Even offered to do our laundry on our third evening! Delicious breakfast - continental or full hot breakfast and nice to talk to in the mornings! The view from our room was spectacular and really enjoyed that! Nice living room to hang out in during the evenings and with great views also.

Lovely old lodge which is well positioned for sunrise and sunset. Loved the porch for aperitifs.

Lovely place, beautiful views of the Estuary, nicely positioned for sunrise and sunset. It was very cold weather but heaters in the rooms and electric blankets so cosy. Very clean and spacious. Easy walk to town and takeaways from the Thai at the Golf course. We loved our stay.

Amazing hospitality from the owner, Jeanette. The Beachcomber room was well appointed and had spectacular views across to Mangawhai beach. We would return just for Jeanette's cooked breakfast!

great value for money, very clean, and well equipped would recommend for sure.

The views were great, the Heritage apartment had everything we needed. fully equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom with separate toilet that included a hand basin. even the master had a small walk in robe with hand basin. handy location to golf club. good sized deck for afternoon drinks or morning cuppa.

just something to be aware of is if you have a large car the driveway is a little tight.
