Love the rural location & friendly staff. Lee (barman /waiter /jack of all trades) & chef Simon went out of their way to make everyone welcome. Food was amazing. Plenty of choices for breakfast & evening meals. Cosy seating in bar with log fire & bar prices ok.
Decent sized comfortable bedroom. Huge very comfy bed, good quality bed linen & pillows. Plenty sockets & usb points. Nice sized shower room. Patio leading off bedroom (dog friendly room)
Needs signage for reception!
Bedrooms need a little tlc. Some dated & mismatched furniture but plenty storage.
Bathroom shower head was cracked but still useable....not a lot of money to replace...and it was a great shower.
Hotel has had money spent on it as dining room/function rooms are great. Possibly still work in progress.
It is only a 3* hotel but wouldn't take much to upgrade it.
In my opinion hotel is missing a huge opportunity by not attracting passing trade/travellers for coffees or light lunches (saw no signage) there's a caravan park nearby but no one visited hotel over Easter weekend.... could do some deals/specials night like curry or even fish & chips. There's no other eateries or takeaways for miles!

The location is beautiful, beds were very comfortable, showers had very good pressure and was hot plus the staff were very friendly and food was amazing! They’re also very dog friendly which is a big plus!

We arrived late but staff had kindly put a key aside for a room. We left early even though there were no staff available to take our payment. On the suggestion of the chef we left our contact details and I paid the next day.
