Atlantic House B&B

Top-quality à-la-carte breakfast in appealing, bright breakfast-room looking out to a terrace, the garden and the sea. Delightful, welcoming hostess. The B&B is an absolutely smart, clean, comfortable modern free-standing house on a very peaceful lane along the coast a mile from the remarkable harbour village of Castletownshend. Two of the bedrooms to let have pretty sea views while the third, possibly slightly smaller one overlooks a fine lawn. Recommendations to some excellent gastro-pubs not far away.

This was our fourth short stay in Atlantic House. There is so much to like! Fab breakfast prepared by John and served in beautiful bright dining room with gorgeous views out to the sea. Kathleen is a wonderful hostess her home is one of those houses that is really loved! The bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms are exceptionally comfortable and clean. The location is excellent for visiting West Cork, with so many lovely places to visit close by. Castletowshend, the local village is just a short walk away and has a great pub/ restaurant, “Mary Ann’s”.

We enjoyed a wonderful welcome from Kathleen and John. The breakfasts each day were terrific, with plenty of choice. Kathleen always had time for us and helped us prepare our travel plans and made suggestions, after finding out our interests. Such lovely people and such great hosts! we will certainly return, when in the area..

From the moment we arrived Kathleen made us feel welcome. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The location is stunning, peaceful and blessed with a fabulous sea view. The house was spotless and homely and our room was immaculate. You could see how much pride she takes in her home. Breakfast was a real highlight, lots of options but we often opted for the full Irish which was excellent and set us up for the day. A fridge out in the hallway with constant fresh water was a lovely touch too. We genuinely were very sad to leave.
