Was not offer option for breakfast and could have at least put out some rusks

We enjoyed the venue in nature even though one could still hear trucks passing on the nearby highway all night. The peacocks and blesbuck spottings as well as the abundant birdlife made up for that. We also enjoyed the freedom to walk through the expansive garden and tree- rich yard.

We asked for a single bed to be put into room 1. Message wasn't passed on to caretaker, which then offered us the self-catering unit. This unit is not well stocked for self- catering. When we asked for salt, we were told people normally bring their own. Salt, really? On the web photos the single bed is behind the room divider, but we found it in the kitchen section with no privacy to the main bed and a strong security light shining in on the pillows through the reeded blind (which was see-through from outside.) The caretaker brought a cloth to remedy this for the second night, which was not really successful. Web advertises queen bed, but it is in fact two singles put together with only a sheet combining the beds. Small details were overlooked like the duvet cover that wasn't clipped closed. All in all the venue appeared that it was once as the photos showed, but is presently in a state needing TLC. I don't expect luxury & could consider making use of it again if the price was halved. For the price, one would expect immaculate surroundings and attention to detail. The kitchen cupboards lack many necessities and I would have to bring my own teapot, plunger, grater, tablemats, serviettes to name but a few. I am not prone to complaining, but would have been happy to go again if it wasn't for these things that can be fixed. I hope my time and effort to respond helps the owners.
