Great location for a day or two - the free shuttle makes it very convenient and you avoid the horribly overpriced hotels at OR Tambo itself.

I stayed at the Emerald Guesthouse three times for one night for transiting Johannesburg Airport. I was looking for a affordable place near the airport to sstay the night and Emerald Guesthouse was a good choice. The shuttle service woks well and staff is friendly. Yes, the furniture is a bit old - but that does not matter to me. Bed was comfy, wifi worked well most of the time, adapters in the room, so that I could use my european plugs. I would stay here again, if I am transiting Jobo airport.
A bedside lamp would be nice.
