Hideaway by Liv Retreats

Easy check in, staff friendly and helpful. Lodge spotless, hot tub clean and ready to use. Lovely quiet rural location as expected, we were well prepared and took everything food wise we required with us. Very relaxing and we were able to unwind and relax fully during our stay. Having read the reviews we were dreading how our break would be but to say we we were very pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Staff are working hard at the resort and lots of maintenance/work is being undertaken.

Its a shame the pub on site does not serve food and is a cash only bar. The beds queen very springy but having read the reviews we took our own mattress topper with us so it wasn't and issue. I would have preferred an undercounter freezer to a washing machine as you are so far out and the fridge had only a small icebox at the top. Which was fine for us but a family would struggle. (My personal observation only).

The second time ive stayed at the hideaway this year and cant fault it great price and a lovely getaway if you want to get away from city life! not much around but it was great for what we wanted just countryside and to chill out for a few days. staff very helpful hot tub was clean and any issues was dealt with straight away will defiantly be back.

some of the buttons on the hot tubs didnt work which was a annoying at times as we hot to fill it up with hot water to keep it warm. the beds could be more comfortable too!

Loved the location was in the middle of nowhere, about 10-15min drive to the local town or village. Loved all the birds and nature around. Lovely walks and quiet. Swallows flying, hot tub amazing, overall a few tweaks it could be amazing

Didn't like that it seemed no one knew what they was doing, the pub on site advertised food, and didn't have anyone to cook, then trying to find someone to serve, one persons additude when customers asked what we meant to do for food appears to be they couldn't care. Bird mess on outside pub furniture. But a, few tweaks could be amazing

The lodge was well laid out and the kitchen was well equipped. The ramped entrance to the deck and gate were very useful as we had a dog and a wheelchair user. The hot tub was excellent, clean and well maintained.

When we arrived there was no one around and the staff we eventually located were a bit vague when we asked about bedding for the pull out bed. We were not able to get reliable hot water from either shower, a maintenance person did come out but the problem was not resolved. We had booked for six people and only had five actual beds, we had to ask for bedding for the pull out, which the member of staff we spoke to was not sure about. As a result there was no mattress for the pull out and so one member of our party just slept on the sofa as it was. The mattresses on the beds were not the most comfortable. There was large nail sticking up from the deck by the hot tub and some of the planks were rotten. In all, the place gave the feeling of being a bit tired and in need of a makeover. The road leading to the park was very uneven and it was hard to drive along it without catching the underside of the car on the bumps!
