Location, ten steps from the door to a restaurant and cocktail bar, twenty steps to a great Cafe and close to both museums palazzos and not too long a walk to the Porto antico The classic decor and interior especially the plaster cieling style and murals was impressive

The shower was very difficult to use and a couple of things need replacing example the kitchen has no light and forgot dishwashing liquid

The apartment is spacious, 2 floors, very historical with round cathedral ceilings, stylish, and full of historical charm, with beautiful marble steps leading up to the courtyard. The location is very upscale—similar to staying in a Manhattan-type area in New York ( I was told that by locals, otherwise I could not compare, it was my 1st time in Genova), — safe, central, and surrounded by historic landmarks. It’s only about a 15-minute walk to the port, close to the Aquarium, Corvetto Square, and Palazzo Doria Tursi. Rents in this part of the city are usually high, but I booked a few months in advance and got a good price for June. Apartment has a good large desk where I could work (online). The kitchen is well-equipped, the washing machine was useful, and WiFi worked well throughout my stay. Overall, it’s a unique place to experience the atmosphere of Genova.

There is no elevator, and to reach the courtyard you must climb a very long staircase equivalent to about three flights of stairs. Carrying luggage was extremely difficult. The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning. A portable unit sat unused in the corner of a bedroom with no way to install it, and there was only one half-broken fan. I stayed for two weeks in June, when the temperature was over 30°C (around 86°F), and it was very uncomfortable—especially if you are used to A/C. I messaged the host asking for at least a better fan, but they did not respond.
