Exceptionally clean property with great amenities for all ages. It was lovely to be able to read the history of the property and YHA on entry. The layout was excellent and rooms were spacious.
More car park spaces would make the venue more practical. However I can understand that due to location this may not be possible. More lighting could be added to the outdoor areas especially the entrance road as the sensory lights are not bright enough at night.

The distance form the pods to the toilet and back especially when it was raining cats and dogs it was a inconvenience

The lady receptionist was very welcoming and kind. The room was very quiet at night and warm. Toilet paper and hand soap provided. They've got a guest kitchen and lobby where you can hangout with other travellers. Only 5 mins drive from Pont ar Daf car park where we start our hike to Pen y Fan.
There was no wifi or data reception in our room. Parking area was small and limited. Bed was not really the most comfortable but we were only there for a night. Best bring your own towel as you need to rent for it if you need one. No shower/shampoo soap provided in our room (was not sure if we could rent some but it was late at night so we didnt bother going back to reception).

Very accessible but feels like a remote stay in the mountains. Felt right at home there.

Perfect location and a beautiful property for a large group of us with children. The deputy manager was exceptional and did everything to make our stay comfortable. All staff were amazing. Great value for money and self catering kitchen was great for our large group.
There was nothing that I didn’t like about the property.

Great food, open fire, staff very welcoming. Lovely breakfast too.
The bunk beds were really child size in length for my father and I who booked a room with en-suite bathroom. A pretty sleepless night.

Stunning views ,amazing staff , value for money.
Bed is very small and not very comfortable. Wi-Fi isn’t good in rooms but good in common areas.

The staff were so welcoming, the kitchen was spotless and the fire was roaring. Such a lovely place to relax after a long walk. I genuinely couldn’t fault the place. I enjoyed my stay more than I have at hotels that are twice the price. 100% can’t wait to return!
Literally nothing that I could think of

The location was great for hiking nearby. The staff was very friendly. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were very tidy. The pod was quite warm.
The picture on the booking page was a bit misleading. I thought the camping pod had kitchen facility inside the pod.
It will be good to have some lights from the pods to the shared kitchen and bathroom. Although a camping light was given by the staff, it's still quite dark.
The blackout blinds in the pod were very mouldy.

Staff were brilliant
WiFi only works in the communal area and there’s no signal at the hostel
Breakfast is quite pricey for what you get

Lovely old welsh style cottage . Lovely log burner in lounge . Well equipped kitchen and menu option.
Not many spaces to park close to property and the small car park just a short walk up hill is pitch black at night . Make sure you have torches

Its all very homely. Staff are friendly and facilities are good.
The check-in time is 5 pm, and in my opinion, it is too late. But other than that, it's my go-to place to stay.

We stayed for 2 nights in a cosy pod. Very friendly and helpful staff, plenty of toilets/showers. Lovely breakfast available and a bonus that you could get dinner and they had drinks available too. Perfect location for exploring the area.

Excellent customer service at the check in/reception and friendly and welcoming staff. Generous breakfast at a bargain price. Quirky members kitchen with good amenities. Traditional feel to it as it was in the early 1990s. Spacious dining area. Excellent location. On a frequent bus route so can be reached even if you don't have your own transport.
Some external noise from people walking around in the room above. It is an old building so I doubt if it has been adequately sound proofed. Not enough plug sockets in the room. One area for improvement would be the inclusion of a bedside light. Driveway has low level lighting so I recommend bringing a torch.

🇬🇧I liked the property because it has a nice location, pleasant ambiance, good weather, and everything was well maintained.
I didn’t like that the WiFi connection was very poor, the washbasin in my room was not working properly, and I noticed some spider webs in the room

Keep doing what you do, team! 10/10.
We were so grateful that the staff waited for us after 10 pm, such kindness made us feel instantly welcome. The old stone building had a cozy charm with homely feel, and our twin ensuite room felt special with a roof window where we listened to the rain at night and woke up to daylight in the morning. Everything was so clean and well maintained, nice to have a self cook kitchen too. I wanted to stay more to enjoy their outdoor benches and camp areas as it was amidst mountains/farms.
We liked everything!

What a beautiful location! The landscape and the building! Such a warm and comfortable place to relax and recharge, I had the best night sleep of my 6 week trip in one of these beds!!! The staff member who greeted me was so lovely and the energy was just lovely ! Will 100% be staying again and recommending it to others

Perfect place to enjoy nature and have some quiet time. It’s 5 min walk from the bus station, and you can get to the start of pen y pan by 40 min walk (a trail with gorgeous view). Staff are so friendly and welcoming.

YHA Brecon Beacons was a peaceful and scenic retreat, perfect for our hiking trip. The pod we stayed in was cosy, clean, and well-equipped—with heating, lights, plug points, and even provisions for a night BBQ, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was set beside a charming little bridge and a stream, adding to the beauty of the location. The common areas were spotless, and the reception had maps for nearby trails. Pricing was great value. Only downside was the fixed 5–10 PM check-in, which limited flexibility. Would love to return!
The only drawback was the rigid check-in window (5–10 PM), which limited flexibility and required a change in our travel plans.

-Position: excellent for hikers/bikers, nature lovers, families or people who want a pause from the city!
There's a private parking and a bus stop nearby and you're close to many trails and walks.
You're immersed in the Beacon Brecons park and everywhere you look it's just stunning.
-Staff: the staff is so kind! They always try to find a way to help, they're nice and lovely.
-Rooms: there was a technical problem with my reservation; I had booked a dormitory but it was full, so they offered me a private room instead. The room was cute and provided with all necessities. The bathroom was clean and the bed was so comfy.
-Services: you can see the attention they put in every detail. It's very hikers oriented: there are dryng rooms for clothes, bottle refilling stations, barbecue stations, campfire set etc.
There's a well furnished kitchen for self cooking, tables inside and outside and a nice little living room with board games and sofa. In the common area there's WiFi too.
Many maps of the surrounding trails are available at reception
-Cuisine: breakfast is well furnished. They also have a small restaurant and a good variety of beers and drinks to choose from.

Food excellent, wifi poor and beds not very comfy. Seems dramatic but lights at the end of bed would be better as central lights had to be turned on making sleeping difficult with late guests or people wanting to read

I loved the big lawn in front with ample grass for a picnic blanket, the self catering kitchen and bathrooms. Everything was spotless and the staff were great.
The curtains in room 2 doesnt close well enough to block all the light, might be better to get a blind.
