Great location and a lovely welcome.
The location, opposite the lake and close to the town, is perfect. The room facilities and particularly the shower, were excellent. We had a very lovely welcome from the lady who seemed to do everything, and decided to take the breakfast, which was very good, and included freshly cooked scrambled eggs and bacon made to order. We very much liked this hotel.

Cute cosy stay
I liked the room, the decorations, room was clean. The lobby is very cute and cosy decorated I like the fact that they organized breakfast in a way to avoid waste - everything was delicious.
I didn't like the big gravel terrace in front of our small balcony that had a lake view.

If you can live with the parking problems its a great hotel
A nice hotel with welcoming owner. Our room had its own balcony which had views of the lake. Breakfast and dinner were great. Good value for the location which was at the centre of everything.
In summer, the parking in Gerardmer is manic. We pulled up onto the sidewalk in front of the hotel but it is possible to find NO PARKING SPOT WHATEVER within walking distance. The "free onsite parking and parking garage" listed were not offered if they existed. The hotel seems to close just when guests would arrive. I was told that a door code text had been sent to my phone - a bit late as it was my home number and I was in France. That needs organising a bit further in advance.

Pleasant
Located nearby the lake, parking facilities in front of hotel (if you are lucky). Good breakfast. I also has dinner in the restaurant. Was ok.
I knew the room would be not that big, so that's no issue. But: there was a terrible cigarette smell in the room, that was not very welcoming. It was better after opening terrace door, but the smell never went away completely.

Basic but comfortable
Good location, nearby ample parking. Room was small but clean, and even on the street side it was quiet. The ladies on the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The reception desk is open only sporadically. Beware, the free WiFi is "not secure". It would be nice to have an afternoon beer, but the restaurant has only limited hours, had to go elsewhere for refreshments.

I prefer more low fat options at breakfast and more fresh fruit but I'm picky Rooms were noisy as you could hear neighbours Beds are too soft for me Keyless check-in (no one at reception) but then again this is a family-owned business so they have to use manpower there where it is most needed
