We stopped off here on the way up to Scotland. Every member of staff we met was very welcoming and smiley which was lovely. It's a beautiful building, and our room was cosy. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great pressure. Lovely view across the square. The location was perfect, right in the centre of town and public car parks just behind the hotel. We particularly loved how sweet the staff were with our dog! When having breakfast in the morning they brought her some sausage too :) We would recommend getting breakfast at the hotel, it was fab. We'd stay here again on our next road trip!

It really was lovely, but if I'm being picky a couple of things in the room could do with a slightly deeper clean, for example the tv remote and carpets, but it really wasn't bad at all!

The location is great The bar and courtyard were lovely The room was spacious with a great bathroom and shower I loved that there were 2 windows in the room and a nice window in the bathroom It was a lovely touch having an iron and an ironing board, a hairdryer, and a fan.

The beds were absolutely awful. As well as being really narrow, they were so bouncy and creaky that it was like being on a trampoline all night. Also, there weren't proper sheets on the bed, just mattress toppers, which kept falling off every time I turned over. I also didn't think that there were enough towels for 2 people. Our room was cleaned after one night, which was nice, but I think the wet towels were just put back on the towel rail, so then we didn't know who's was who's. Also, 4 coat hangers for 2 people is nowhere near enough I also think that you should give each adult a separate room key. I found the stairs far too narrow and cramped. It was fine in the middle of the stay, but when we were bringing our bags up and down,it was hard. It was nice to have tea and coffee making facilities, but the milk let it down. Also, I think a mini fridge would have elevated the whole room
