Beautiful, expertly maintained grounds, educational birding and medicinal plant walks, trails through jungle and to the river, friendly and helpful staff and a great restaurant.
No alcohol available on site, but we could bring our own in.

It was a great location, not too far out of town, but had a remote feel. And had activities on the property.

Very helpful staff and beautiful grounds. The food in the restaurant was excellent, especially the Queen Jack breakfast and the lamb chop dinner, although they request that you reserve a table and pre-order. Two bedroom apartment was extremely spacious.
The construction is fairly rustic and there are lots of jungle noises at night. Sleeping was more pleasant with the fan noise from the air conditioner running.

Maya Mountain Lodge was beautiful, and we wish we spent more time here. We stayed 2 nights. We didn't really use the kitchen. We spent basically the whole day out doing cave tours, so we didn't get to use the property as much, but having a hut to yourself in nature was amazing. The bathroom was clean and the hammock was a nice touch.
We stayed in Trogon, and it was a little noisy at times when cars drove by. The other huts that are more in the property don't get as much noise from the main road, compared to our room. Fiona's cafe was expensive >> all prices in USD. Was much cheaper to eat in San Ignacio town. The walk to town is doable because it's downhill (about 20-25 min walk). Taxi to town costs about $7 USD one-way.

Very relaxing. Great staff and they could order tours to pick you up there. Old but charming. Restaurant was reasonably priced and had a variety of food.

The breakfast was late on one day. And the 2nd day the eggs were not over easy and the tea water like warm. But the food was good and. Priced similarly to other hotels in the area.

The location is beautiful. In the jungle but still close to the road. Easier with a car to get to town but only a 20 minute walk. Loved the outside kitchen which is really well equipped. The staff are amazing. Cesar & his team including Elsa & Wilder (who is incredibly knowledgeable about birds) made our stay outstanding.

Very friendly helpful staff. Beautiful property, with clean, well-stocked, quiet apartment. Central location for pick up on excursions, close to town by car (bit far to walk).
Restaurant food was delicious but pricey. Bunkbed mattress was very uncomfortable, sagging and thin but other beds were good.

The room was spacious and very clean. All the staff were incredibly friendly and stopped to chat wherever we met them - on a pathway, at the front desk, or at the firepit. The restaurant food and service were great, and we loved that there was a fire in the firepit every evening.
Tours are a bit high-priced, but we found that in other locations as well.

Loved being nestled in the jungle yet a short distance to town. Technically with thr city if san ignacio, our tour puckups at the property were free. Pool and hammocks were great as was the bird watching from the Parrots Porch. Was lovely to watch the mountains appear through the jungle mist. But most of all, the staff was so super friendly and made us feel right at home. The restaurant is excellent too! We did a Maya cooking class/meal with Julie and had a fantastic experience, learning so much about the local culture and getting to eat a truly fantastic meal.

Property was gorgeous, loved the casita. The amenities were great, only drawback was the onsite restaurant was not open during our stay. Levi was very helpful through our visit. Neat walking trail takes you around the mountain.
Nothing to not like.

The grounds, the size of the accommodation, the various areas to sit and enjoy the gardens, the friendly staff. The manager, Levi, went to collect a pizza for us one evening when my son was unwell. All staff were so friendly and helpful.
Many tours claimed online that the hotel was outside of their pick-up area but the hotel advised us to call the operators to check and they all came to pick us up!

I stayed in the lodge for one night. In particular, I appreciated how attentive the lodge's staff was in helping me prepare for my stay. The staff arranged a taxi for me to pick me up from the bus drop-off location, made dinner reservations for me, and facilitated my visit to the nearby Xunantunich Mayan Ruins. The property itself was beautiful; my room was spacious and clean, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Overall, the lodge far exceeded my expectations for the price I paid.
The property is a bit removed from the center of San Ignacio. Note also that the restaurant is by reservation only. If you do not book in advance, you will have to take a taxi to San Ignacio to have a meal.

Maya mountain Lodge is a perfect location. Our bungalow was a good size and bedding was lovely and clean with a mattress topper. Towels were brilliant white and there were lots of them . The shower was great, spacious with lots of hot water, housekeeping was daily and very thorough. , A water cooler was provided in the bungalow and a vase with flowers . There was a Coffee machine and a fridge. The setting is very very tranquil, with lots of birds and squirrels; there is also the occasional monkey. The pool is very clean and there are chairs and hammocks. The restaurant has a limited menu but is very good and service is excellent. Reception sells crisps etc. WiFi was very good.
The restaurant requested we book and order in advance; it would have been nice to be able to decide to dine on an ad hoc basis. Loungers at the pool would be appreciated. Chairs on patio were difficult to get out of because they were so low.

The surroundings were great, the pool and the gardens were lovely. The lodges were a traditional style and were very comfortable with a small kitchen provided.
There was some road noise, and the location is a distance from San Ignacio

Food was delicious at restuarant there and also at Carm's for breakfast just a little ways away. Pool was great. Setting in the rain forest was wonderful. Office staff very helpful.
Our bed could have been a little more comfortable and better lighting in bathroom.

Great jungle location with plenty of birds outside your window - Cesar and the staff were wonderful. Good in-house dining options if you don’t want to head out for dinner after a long day trekking the jungle and ruins.

Our room was very comfortable with lots of amenities for the price - fridge, water cooler, pool, pool towels and a delicious restaurant on site. We especially loved the covered deck with chairs for sitting outside of our room - all of the flora created a private and serene atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The grounds were beautiful, every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful! Our house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool was a great place to cool off from the jungle heat! The staff was very responsive to requests & helpful (we used the laundry service, ate at the restaurant once and also needed extra cleaning help after an opossum got in the house).
We stayed in the 3 bedroom house which is near the road & staff areas. This created a bit of noise (road noise & people noise) particularly early in the morning. It wasn’t a huge deal but what I think was staff arrival or getting started in the morning occurs quite early (around 5:30 or 6) so if you stay in the 3 bedroom house just be aware you may be woken early. Unlikely an issue for the other cabins/houses as they were a ways from the road. We did have quite a lot of ants in the house but it’s the jungle! Bugs are to be expected. We also had an opossum get into our house & make a mess but again, it’s the jungle and surprises happen! The staff was VERY responsive and dealt with the issue & cleanup very quickly.

Great location for those who travel by car or if you want to walk into town. We stayed at the Chacha lodge. Smartly designed cabana that was also shaded by large trees and stayed cool. Did not need AC but it is available. Good water pressure makes for comfortable showers. Basic but well-equipped kitchen for cooking your own food. We enjoyed staying there. It is lovely to almost be in the jungle. The 'jungle' was a little cleaned up and is kept at bay but still lots(!) of flora and fauna around. Cesar is super helpful with good information and for restaurant reservations in town and taxi rides!
It is regrettable that walking back from San Ignatio is not recommended once it is dark. This is not the hotel's responsibility at all and they were able to provide us with taxi service very easily. It's just sad that this is the reality of the area/country.

We had a brilliant time. The facilities are so well designed. We had beach towels and shoe towels in addition to the usual set of towels. So useful when we did activities and helped us keep the room and our belongings clean. The clean laundry bag was returned with matched socks by staff - the care was exceptional! There was plenty of hot water around the clock, which other hotels in Belize and Mexico have struggled with.
The pool area and gardens were beautiful. We had a lovely garden tour and reception staff helped us design and book an exciting day trip to Pine Ridge Forests. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast and easily ordered dinner from good San Ignacio restaurants. Cannot wait to come back!
Nothing.
