Mackay Seabreeze Apartments

The staff where very helpful

Neat an tidy

Close to the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel meals were reasonably priced and good food.

The rooms are probably fine. Didnt reach them.

Arrival is in a rubdown car park at the back end of a pub. Arrival outside of working hours requires a walk outside the property to check in. This requires a long walk to the front or a not obvious side entrance through a pokies lounge and numerous bars to find a bar staff member. My problem is that I wanted a quiet motel room not to be forced to walk through numerous bars and gambling facilities. Im sure the rooms are fine but the reception area is dysfunctional and crap. Im sure if you arrive between 9 to 5 you might find reception but it was closed and really seemed to be am afterthought tacked on to the back of a pub amongst pallets and kegs and the usual crap pubs store out the back. The listing is dishonest to not state this all it says is there is a pub with meals available. Really a beautiful spot but...people have serious and legitimate reasons not to enter pubs or gambling areas and this set up forces the guests to do this. Also as the booking was made online through this site the bar staff weren't able to find my booking and the wholr thing appeared to be a bit of a sxxtshow so I asked about cancellation. Booking policy states cancellation would cost a nights accommodation. I would have stayed one night and moved on to not lose anyone but the bar staff stated I would cancel and would receive a 100 percent refund

Location - we were there for an event and rather than pay for transport to and from we opted to stay at the venue.

The upstairs rooms were in the process of being renovated so it wasn't an easy thoroughfare to our room. There was no screen off the lounge so we had to keep the glass sliding door shut to keep the flies out. Room was in need of a deep clean. Ceiling fans were really noisy,
