The views were spectacular. Not far from Lucca.
It was very difficult to get there. Roads under construction. Tiny roads that took twice the time and not easy driving. The owner left a message about it but it didnt really get us all the way there. We were in the annex (chapel) It doesn't have a TV and other facities as the main house. The value isnt the same. It had been raining so maybe seemed my dark and dank than it normally is. The stairs are short but like a fire escape in the room. Very hard to negotiate especially at night or with luggage. There were insects and dirty items left in the sink. The bathroom is open to the kitchen area, separated by half swing doors. With the rain it felt like a small old cottage. I didnt see the rooms in the main hose so I cant compare.

This villa is a dream place!Unfortunately we spent only one night, but the experience was fantastic!
The place is on a hilltop with a good countryside road leading to the place.
The villa has all the original features throughout (built in 17 century, renovated in 1930s)
and fantastic views.Rooms are very big, clean and comfortable.
The breakfast areas and the gardens are great-large and comfortable.
Although we arrived really late in the evening, our host Duccio waited for us and made sure we are settled.
The villa and the surrounding area picture perfect-and what you see is what you get for real!
Breakfast is nice with real coffee and nice touches like fresh local fruits(persimmons in our case)
Own produce organic olive oil is available to buy at the villa-excellent taste!
I will definitely go back to the villa, but for longer time!

We stayed at “the church” which is an old remodeled small church. It was a quite nice experience, even we only stayed for one day we really liked the area, and the surroundings. They have multiple patios that you can walk around and enjoy some good Italian breakfast

A fantastic host and stay. Nothing was too much trouble.
He gave us clear instructions on where to eat, visit and where to park on our trips into Lucca.
The building and room were lovely and we enjoyed waking up in such an idyllic setting in the hills.
Breakfast was good and plentiful too.
We had the evening meal one night which was a feast to behold. You cant beat a home made meal and it was excellent.
The local wine was much appreciated & enjoyed.
Many thanks for making our stay so special x

Location, antique style
My room had bugs. Many.
Hot water took long, needed more soap toiletries,
Maybe a rug, some paint touchups.

A historic gem perched on a hill just outside the city of Lucca. The owner was so kind and there is clearly a lot of pride taken in welcoming guests to this piece of history.

wonderful old villa. Quiet. Birds tweeting in the morning. Hosted by the friendly owner himself. Generous breakfast. If desired, excellent dinner cooked by the host - what a treat! Close to Lucca, the various villas north of Lucca and to Pisa. Excellent base for a couple of days and beyond.

We slept in the church. Not well-equipped for the price. Our biggest complaint was the cleaning. Bed was clean but kitchen has coffee mugs still with stains from previous user and water bottled used in the refrigerator.

- an old building which has been lovingly renovated
- Very good breakfast, coffee all day
- Very good location with a stunning view of the region
- aVery good service of the host
- It is on the top of a hill, the approach is on narrow roads
No problem for us but those who want a choice of restaurants and stores must go to Lucca or surroundings

This family run B&B embodies what a perfect stay can be. From the moment I entered the premises I knew I would experience something special. The building is beautiful, the vistas and landscape is scenic and the artwork and pictures of the room and interior is breathtaking. The service was fantastic and dinner/food was beyond description!
Nothing at all! I wished I could spend more time there!

the place is just perfect. The villa itself is located in a very beautiful place and the view from it to the city and the mountains is simply charming. In the villa, every piece of furniture and decor complements it, so I would definitely recommend this place. Very beautiful and unforgettable. And of course the staff, responsive, helpful and nice - everything as it should be 👍

The villa is on the top of a hill with fabulous views of the countrysides all around. The family-run villa is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful historic furniture in great condition. Our room was large, spotless, had a very comfortable bed, two large windows and a good-sized en-suite bathroom. There was a fridge/freezer with an honour bar, ice cream, etc. which was a great touch. It was raining so we didn’t get to use the bikes to tour around but I can see the countryside would be great for that.
